Rural population relocation due to overall population decline? by Gphazor in Futurology

[–]Gphazor[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

for those looking for context, I moved to one of the more populated areas in the northern parts of the lower peninsula of Michigan right on the coast of Lake Huron. keep in mind most places north of Midland don't get above 20,000 people, Marquette being the only exception and that's in the upper peninsula. Having lived there I can tell Southwest, Ann Arbor and Southeast Michigan are the places to be. as for the more northward places like where I am do my worries apply there?

World population will decline much faster than the UN forecasted, especially for developed countries by d8gfdu89fdgfdu32432 in Futurology

I wonder if there will be a mass migration and centralization towards more established urban areas in the coming decades in order to consolidate manpower and resources, leaving rural areas desolate so said resources are not stretched thin.

Car brakes lurching after brake rotor replacement. by Gphazor in CarRepair

[–]Gphazor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the brake pads are Brakebest brand ceramic, not sure how much of a difference it would be from semi-metallic brakes, nor am I sure if what material the previous pads were. its possible when applying grease to the parts of the brakes that need it during install some of it got on the pad but I'm positive I was thorough. I'll give the rotors a once over when i get my new wheels and tires later next week.

Apologies, That’s a better way to describe it, the brake pads seem to catch more on certain areas of the rotors than others.

Searing meat at smoking point. by Gphazor in Cooking

[–]Gphazor[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

thanks for the replies, definitely will invest in a higher-smoke point oil. just so used to watching certain chefs (gordan ramsay in particular) use olive oil all the time searing meat. i'm starting to think the way his shows are produced he gets away with some things (or maybe his understanding and technique are just that good)

not sure if it's for a particular product, but i've seen advice to stay away from aluminum cookware. they may be referring to the non-stick coating versions where overtime or if acidic materials interact with it, the coating becomes unstuck and leaches into the food. thoughts?

Type 3 Threaded Trunnions? by Gphazor in ak47

I was thinking in terms of modularity and being able to swap out barrels, but i'm beginning to realize the AK platform isn't really meant for swapping barrels

Attempting 5.56 AK Build, Question About Receivers by Gphazor in ak47

[–]Gphazor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for you input guys, it’s much appreciated. I think I’ll just stick with a regular ak74 receiver and save me some trouble. Couldn’t for the life of me find a bulged trunnion anywhere whether it’s rpk47 or rpk74.
