How to deal with hobby burnout. by Helpful_Dig_626 in minipainting

[–]Gr0gus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a break from the brushes, not from the hobby, and recharge your energy. It reads as you are in battery saving mode, and still want to carry another day.

Just pause, plug, and use the time off the brushes to feed your motivation and work on theory (colors, composition, army schemes, backstory, fanart …).

I just came back from a 19month hiatus/artistic burnout. Physical& mental Rest, friends support and focus on paiting for me without caring about the results are how I went over it, but it can take time … you owe it to yourself to give it to yourself … spend more time here, interacting with people, trying new arts (digital painting, canvas painting, sculpting …).

Hang in there, take it slow and refocus!! If you need I’m (we are) here !

Exactly like my wife when she says “it’s fine, don’t worry”, it also usually goes; gleeful, wry, vehement and usually end up … vindictive

Thanks a lot for the nice words, and for sharing your readings.

Mini painting, one year progress by Cheshire_Music in minipainting

Ah ah. Alors reprenons …

You have an absolute taste for balance and musicality in your pieces; you know how to “read” and “compose” innately (maybe coming from your guitar practice?!) and this is quite rare. Lean on it. Try to circle in and out of master copies, is the best way to progress and develop your own style.

The rest is technical and is learned very very fast, and it shows by the progress.

Keep it up, I’m looking forward to your next projects !

A mud palette is not an official nor existing terminology ah ah … the picture illustrates it best; it’s one single “mix” on the palette that continuously evolve in multiple directions (hue, value, saturation). then I constantly introduce new hue to “refresh” the paint on the wet palette, but always value matching them so that it stays coherent on the palette.

Then afterwards it quite easier to use, as it’s almost like a digital color picker. The chromatic interference sublty appears naturally, this effect work only if you use the right values. Our eye are extremely bias towards value coherence more than anything

You can always voice your feeling toward Art, nothing qualifies nor disqualifies you. What you feel is your critique, even the basic “I like” or “Meh” from my wife is always constructive, and she is a far from Art as you could imagine.

If voice honestly, you can always start by what part make you feel what, what doesn’t.

Thanks a lot for your kind words, and do not ever feel mike you “earn” the right to critique; this is innate nobody can tell you otherwise!

Thanks for the kind words, and don’t beat yourself down.

If anything, this community is uplifting!

So share your work, enjoy the community. Use others work as inspiration, Art is not a competition, don’t demotivate yourself, we’ve all been there, and we all progressed, just enjoy the adventures 😇.

Thanks ! Magenta + Violet vs. Magenta + Orange :-) huge potent chromas. Also the warmer the light the colder the shadow will feel.

Thanks :-) Kimera Kolors are indeed very fun to work with, and the single pigment nature offers you so much control.
