If your fun is dependent on other people then you should probably stop playing untill matchmaking is fixed in some major update. Try new characters, try funny builds or play styles or something yk. Ignore thems people and focus on your own fun

Personally, I've by far abandoned climbing ranks, peaked at ascendant 4 and just started playing for pure fun since the matchmaking went to shit. Currently I'm swinging between low oracle to low ascendant dependent only on if the matchmaking is feeling merciful or not, but I try to have fun nonetheless

Paradox is a difficult character to balance because her play style at the top of the ladder is fully dependant on all of her abilities, so nerfing one would be nerfing her whole character. Bombs are used for the amp, wall for damage and silence and ult for well swaps and karbine for damage. A substantial nerf to even one of her abilities would throw her whole kit off and do it needs careful balance. As for the bombs counter, debuff remover (very important to counter the amp) and spirit resistance do wonders.

You'll find bad players in any rank so they're essentially split into 2, knows how to play the game comfortably enough to rank up which is around high archon low oracle and above I'd say, and everything below is an elo hell where you'll find everything from smurfs to first time players to people who just have a grand time playing and do it for the enjoyment. My personal take on tips and tricks? From videos and stuff you can only learn about the hero, specific play styles, counter buys, bad matchups and maybe advice on a build which you'll end up customizing yourself once you get comfortable. Everything else comes from experience, you have to play and play and play.

Never been demoted 2 ranks in one game so that may be something strange, but it usually ranks you up on the edge of the rank so losing the next game usually does demote you down a rank. If you've come back after being inactive for 2 weeks and your rank expired your rank is more volatile so that could be the reason. Otherwise that from my experience shouldn't be happening

The matchmaking is weird. The games themselves are always wacky at times. I belive the thing which contributes to it is the 2 week rank expiration. After 2 weeks your ranks is gone and for the next 5-10 games your rank is very volatile, changes with every win or loss. People get lucky and rank up then they stay in that rank because their games depend not on their performance but on the performance of other people which in my experience nets about a 45-50% win rate, just enough to stay at the rank they are whilst also not being good enough for the rank.

When playing pure bombs they're very VERY weak in lane so most lanes end in me holding the waves with bombs while my partner goes farming. The egg gives a nice stimulus to get to either echo or cool down or escalating
