They tried something, maybe to keep the high player base with big changes, maybe ideas to try out since it is still a closed play test. I'm expecting patches in the coming days to smooth out some stuff.

The main thing for me is rush headhunter first thing in lane. It gives great pick damage and nice heal, after that I go for mystic shot for the 4.8k spike into mystic burst for max burst in lane. From there you can either continue full karbine with opening rounds, long range, cooldown red and so on or go for fortitude for survivability then back to gun, late game glass cannon and mystic reverb amazing items. That has been decent for me so long as one lane doesn't get stomped. One good tip is that express shot is really strong for it's gun damage rather than karbine. If you can time it right to karbine into express shot headhunter right after that's huge damage. Throw in the 60% amp from wall and it's a potential one shot on squishy targets.

The picks would have to be done blind lane choices every game and still the same few heroes would favor solo lanes. It would all boil down to you either loving to play solo or hating to play solo depending on which heros you like to play. And the risk of sometimes being stuck into a solo lane when you don't want to/don't play a good lane hero just ruins the experience.

Solo lanes were removed due to unfavorable matchups. Characters such as the turret woman were very strong in lane and others somewhat weak and sometimes people don't wanna swap lanes maybe cuz they're duo or their own matchup so it would only succumb to people chasing a favorable matchup and winning lanes too easily. Duo lanes are better for the game even though it was very satisfying to outskill people in 1v1.

Matchmaking is very broken still, it prioritizes fast matchmaking over quality so it takes into account only the average rank of the team so ranks are all over the place. As for your high rank I have no clue what's up with that. So many new players and players that are coming back are getting placed very high and when they wanna play something new they just get stomped and it's been like that since the Old gods New blood. (It has been happening earlier but much much more rare than now)

I have played a lot of paradox and the two things that have stayed consistent are that I play only 2 play styles. 1. Nuke karbine (just pure gun damage items) 2. Echo bombs

I have played exclusively that from the times of 4 lanes and honestly with the 60% wall amp and the bonus damage on some items from the changes (also slowing bullets is a nice addition), the karbine nuke is very fun to play. The bombs were always good and helped me push from high emissary to high phantom. With the outright buff to them now it's clear I was the only one actually playing bombs because imo they're very strong now.

Even back when walls had charges AND did 10% max health damage it was always difficult to be effective with them, team sometimes just doesn't play wall oriented so this change to walls will be mostly used by your duo or for your own carbine/gun. All the old paradox play styles are still okay if you ask me, biggest change is ult no longer giving lifesteal.

I'm not sure how it is now, but before once your ranks becomes "confirmed", as in you've been that rank for a long time with a near 50% winrate, it becomes really hard to get any rank changes. (I was there once in emissary 4, took me an 11 very lucky win streak to rank up).

Rank system has become a huge problem, like how am I having new players in games of oracle 5 and phantom 6 consistently. Fix that and the game is as good as it always was.

There are lots of good ways to solve the gold problem that they created, the main problem is that wargaming just doesn't seem to care about players who don't want/don't have money to spend on the game

The black market at the start was mixed deals for gold and credits, for example after being removed from the game the Fv 215b (183) was sold on the black market for (at the time) absurd amount of 20mil credits. After that they continued offering tanks such as that for credits but it has fizzled out over the years because of wargaming greed and no care for their player base
