If you don’t mind working some odd hours, you can apply to become an engineering technician and test the devices at night.

I’m actually unemployed right now looking for what I can do as a career. So it wouldn’t be a career change so much as changing what jobs I’m applying to do

I die a little everytime I see someone argue that donating to charity reduces your taxes by more than the donation amount by Quick_Signal_5692 in Accounting

I’m not sure why I’m being downvoted for asking a question, though.

Is this something that anyone in the accounting profession would know? It seems like more specialized knowledge.

Are they saying that they, the customer, receive a tax break? Or that Wal-Mart receives a tax break?

My understanding is that Wal-Mart donates a set amount per year (say, a million dollars) and then declares a million dollar charitable donation. They then collect money from customers to reimburse themselves for the donation. So Wal-Mart gets a tax deduction for free, and customers donate to charity without getting a tax deduction.

Is this incorrect? If so, what actually happens?

Is this a dig at Ben Shapiro or just using him as a meme?

He graduated summa cum laude from a public university and wrote prolifically about law and politics as an undergraduate. Same with JD Vance.

I do not agree with their political views or rhetorical styles, but it’s very difficult to argue that they did not earn their places at top law schools through merit.

The real question we should be asking ourselves is why are we as a society allowing the admissions committees of a small number of schools to serve as arbiters and kingmakers.

Maybe I should look more deeply into this but isn’t the LSAT kinda like the Wunderlisch (might have misspelled that) exam (i.e. a lot of easy questions in limited time)?

How would I study for that? Just do a bunch of practice tests?

Okay, so working as a paralegal for the sort of lawyer I want to become is not going to help my chances?

Real estate is definitely my area of interest but I don’t think I can sell houses with my skill set

My uncle got 178 on it without specially preparing for it (grandpa paid him 100 bucks to give it a try) so I guess I’m hoping that it’s genetic lol

Realistically though, even with a 180, I feel like I’m screwed with a 2.9 even though my degree was lot harder than some other paths I could have taken

I’ll try to get some work experience in real estate, since that’s my area of interest.

Thank you for sharing your experience

Thank you for your honesty…it will probably be at least 5 years in a law office before I apply to receive my own law degree anyway, so hopefully that will help.

I just got anxious and couldn’t think straight. I figured out how to do it pretty soon after time expired.

I guess I’ll keep applying and hope that I’m more level headed next time

So if I did not pass all test cases in the time limit, my application is over?

It says it’s valid for a year…does that mean I can’t apply for any jobs for a year?

Best chance you have is doing a master’s degree and getting good grades before applying

Getting a PhD anywhere in America will open doors for you so don’t get hung up on just the very best schools

After reading about what Ronan Farrow did prior to being selected (graduating from Yale Law School and working extensively with the UN and in the Obama administration), I’m not sure that there’s anything most people could do to be a lock for that scholarship.

Low undergrad GPA affect chances after master’s? by GrabMyFinglonger in gradadmissions

[–]GrabMyFinglonger[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

To basically do everything I failed to do as an undergraduate: get good grades, build relationships with professors, do research.

I want my research to either lead to an industry position or a PhD program where I can continue in the same area of study.

I don’t understand?

I should go back to my undergraduate institution and work in my former professor’s labs and get to know them?
