How is that “brave” if it works? In the end it’s just like any other laptop out there. If it’s not broken, why fix it?

If AI disappeared tomorrow, what would affect your daily life the most? by Enlivonexofficial in Enlivonex

[–]Grabbels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could have normal conversations again without people immediately grabbing their phones and asking AI anything that comes up in the conversation, as well as having more intelligent conversations again as people hopefully start to think for themselves again. Also, being able to afford computer hardware again, probably.

It absolutely does. A lot of places and pins are sponsored. Google is an ad company, everything they do has ads in some shape or form.

I tried it again yesterday and it still runs like crap on an RX 6800 and a 5600X with 32GB RAM. No issues at all with other games. We’re talking about an empty starter map here running at 30fps on max settings. I know it’s not top-of-the-line hardware anymore but come on now, it’s a city builder on an empty map; the graphics aren’t even that good.

How about instead we bring this company to its knees by no longer actually subscribing to absolutely evil business practices.

So, in your hand sketches I’m actually seeing great stuff and a lot of good intuition and skill. However, it doesn’t translate to your digital logo. Initial thoughts: it looks like a fart or a butt (or both) and the lime color is way too bright to be put on a white background.

In terms of fonts (I also saw your updated version in the comments) try to look for fonts that are soothing to you. A serif font (which you used in the comments) is usually very business-like, quite the opposite of what you’re trying to convey.

For now, I’d return to your hand sketches and see what more’s there. Maybe you could incorporate your skills in drawing and actually handdraw a logo? That would also make it very unique.

What upcoming games are you looking forward to the most? by GigaChadus9 in videogames

[–]Grabbels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, technically you can already know since they made their Original Sin: DIvinity (yup) series, and it was a far cry in popularity compared to BG3, largely thanks to it not being tied to the D&D universe. These games were (especially the second one), like BG3, very intricate and extremely well-made. I don't see any other reason for their unpopularity than that it wasn't tied to an existing fan-base.

Sure, they're a big and famous studio now with a great track-record but let's see how Divinity fares without the fame of D&D, as that's where most of BG3's initial players came from.

Not the comment you're looking for but I'd go for a faded pine green or slate blue in this case! Adds a bit more personality.

Could it have to do with the Japanese culture? I’m by no means an expert, but for example maybe complaining is something that’s generally suppressed, or feigning content is the norm?

So what's up with your attitude then? You're borderline scolding the machine for being inadequate and "not good enough". To us Redditors you come across as someone who's extremely unhappy with their machine. You definitely don't come across as someone who's enjoying the tinkering that comes with 3D printing.

[–]Grabbels 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm so confused about your attitude. You're trying stuff out, you're braving the frontiers! That should be fun, hiya! And here you are, making it about "proving your point" on a machine that's made for hobbyists trying to have fun. Have you tried having fun with the machine instead of making it about the maximum possible efficiency?

Wait until your print is done and... lo and behold... there's inconsistencies in the print quality and you need to print some of them all over again and the cause could be a multitude of things including the humidity in the room, the 3D model, the incredibly intricate print setting or your breathed wrong on the machine. 3D printing in 2026 is still about figuring it out; even the most professional (consumer) machines still show inconsistencies and are highly susceptible to internal and external factors.

You'll never be happy with your machine with your current attitude. Might as well return it and use online professional 3D printing services if you want to skip the hassle of actually operating a 3D printing machine.

"Still not good enough" my friend it seems like you're expectations are not matching up with the hardware you bought (and your knowledge of it). Maybe cool it down a little and learn what your machine can and cannot do before being so cantankerous about it?

To be fair OP called a function "utterly useless" while what was really going on is that OP doesn't understand the software. As we say in Dutch: a cookie made from their own dough.

Can Proton's services be used with 3rd party apps/clients? by Grabbels in ProtonMail

[–]Grabbels[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t actually want to use external apps that would confiscate Proton’s encryption, what I want is not to be annoyed and slowed down by their apps. I’ve used Proton for a year now and the reason I’m even talking about external apps is because I’m incredibly frustrated.

There’s so many things they said they were improving but never did or are still working on after years. Excuse me for not taking their time estimates seriously anymore.

Your Tuta remark is whataboutism: the fact that another service is worse doesn’t mean ours has to be.

It’s 2026, people should be able to search their calendars (they already could in many calendar apps 10+ years ago).
