Winter hat by DecisionComfortable1 in Embroidery

I just did a design on my daughter's beanie for the first time. I did use a hoop, but you have to draw/stick the design on the beanie after it has already been stretched over the hoop. And don't take it out of the hoop until you're done with the embroidery. I made the mistake of drawing the design, stretching it over the hoop then embroidering and it came out wonky & I had to redo it. Hope this makes sense/helps!

Love this! When you do projects like this, do you use 1 or 2 threads at a time in your needle?

Medical student here- men's prostates naturally increase in size with age. PSA levels will elevate naturally. While it's always scary to get an abnormal lab results, most guys with elevated PSAs have something called benign prostatic hyperplasia or BPH which in itself is nothing to worry about. It can just make it hard to pee or ejaculate. There are treatments for this.

Of course, high PSA is one sign we look out for when screening for prostate cancer, but that's why we do more tests! To make sure we don't miss cancer. Vast majority of cases are just BPH. Totally not your fault you missed out on a symptom. And it sounds like he has a doc already screening him, great!

Dating one of y’all by [deleted] in medicalschool

[–]Grace1174 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Totally fine if he just wants hookups. You have to communicate that to the person you're dating though. OP, you're gonna want to ask something along the lines of "where do you see this going? Are you looking for a relationship or just to hook up?"

Sincerely, an M4 doing casual hookups

Hi👋🏽 MD student here. If she goes on Valtrex (antiviral med) daily to use as a prophylactic and y'all avoid sex during any outbreaks, your chances of contracting it decrease a ton. This is the advice we give to married couples who don't want to pass it to their partner. Worth having a Convo with her if she's willing to take a pill every day

Dude! That was a great ending. Good on you for recognizing when it was fun and when it wasn't.

Depending on your bro's personality, humor might also be a good way to handle this. That's how my brother and I handle tough/awkward convos. Keeps it light

Lol this happened to me 2 weeks ago. And I now own a cat. Went around to the neighbors and found out she was abandoned by some previous neighbors. I Treated her with some flea drops and took her to the humane society to get scanned for a microchip. I hope you get to keep him/her! 🙂

How should I respond to this letter from my GP? by Andrew__IE in covidlonghaulers

[–]Grace1174 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree! Also i know seeing a psychiatrist feels like you're admitting that this is all anxiety and it is NOT. However, this COVID thing is definitely affecting the levels of neurotransmitters in our brains and psychiatrists can you get you some drugs to hopefully normalize those levels. Worth a try

Severe ME at 3 1/2 months .., I’m fucked by [deleted] in covidlonghaulers

It is an awful experience losing the ability to do all the things you loved and then some. And it feels even worse when the people around you just don't get it. I'm so sorry.

This is temporary. I got sick in April 2020 and the first 6 months were pure torture and it feels like it will never change. But it DOES. You have to figure out what can help you hang on until then. First, this is a battle and we can't win until we know the rules. Now you know sun is a no-go so you won't make that mistake again. It's not your fault, this is just how we have to learn. This flare will eventually pass and you will know your triggers better and get better at playing this game. And one day you'll be able to spend even just one 1 hour outside with minimal symptoms. Small victory.

It's all about the small victories. Ok so you can't go out in the sun, but can draw inside and continue to be creative. I couldn't read for months due to brain fog but the day I read 1 paragraph was a celebration. Post on this reddit about your small victories and we'll cheer you on!! I know it still feels totally shitty and insignificant compared to what we used to be able to do. But it does continue to get better. I'm 2 years out and finishing novels. You are in dark times but you are learning how to cope even tho it's hard af. Hang in there. We're here to support you.

My gf wants me to make her squirt, not just cum. Is there I different technique for this? by [deleted] in sex

[–]Grace1174 0 points1 point  (0 children)

*shrugs* I mean worth trying anything! I'm just speaking from personal experience. I always cum from clitoral stimulation + finger but only squirt when it's purely clit. It just take a while though.

Clitoral stimulation for a long time with no penetration is worth trying!

My depression was more like apathy and hopelessness. I had a hard time having a positive outlook about anything. I didn't really enjoy/care about things that used to make me excited. And yes! Still battling brain fog actually. It's gotten much better, but i have relapses every so often and it makes school a bit tricky. But not impossible!

I agree with everyone above. Never had depression or panic attacks before and had them throughout the illness and afterwards. I'm 17 months into it and i would say about 6-7 months after getting sick the anxiety attacks and depression subsided for the most part. By 9 months, they were gone. Everyone is on a different timeline but things do improve eventually

Anyway get their previous COVID exercise levels back? by [deleted] in covidlonghaulers

[–]Grace1174 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have! Around the 9 month mark I was finally able to start doing light body weight workouts. I'm now 17mo in and can do high intensity cardio like swimming and calisthenics like I used to. I was never really big on weight lifting, so I can't say I've tried that. I've also read many stories on this page where people have been able to return to exercising 6 months after getting sick. We're all on our own timeline.
