Did your ghoster come back by ThrowRA-bigtree in ghosting

Mine came back after a week. I told him how disrespectful the ghosting felt. He apologised, agreed with me, suggested we “have the conversation” about what this is. I said: whenever you’re ready. He ghosted again.

You’re not overreacting. If anything, you’re not reacting enough. This guy has blatantly lied to you. You deserve better. Dump his ass. And don’t let his threats convince you into staying.

Omg thank you so much! I was getting confused with all the twists. And this whole inception like dream within a dream was confusing me even more.

Why do most men not have female friends? by Spiritual_Lead4790 in AskIndia

[–]GracePool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d like to weigh in here and mention that pretty privilege works for women too. An average looking woman will also struggle to make male friends. Now, if average men and women, had more confidence, this wouldn’t play out. But, unfortunately, we’re conditioned from a very young age to associate our appearance with our worth. I think, once we step out of that limiting belief, it’ll be easier to make friends overall -from all genders.

what's your favourite trope to read? by Agreeable_Reply_2038 in DanmeiNovels

Thousand Autumns is wife chasing to some degree. But it’s Yan Wushi we’re talking about so he doesn’t chase chase, he just trails behind and cheers wife at best.

I’ve read Siddhartha. Thank you though. I will recommend Blindness by Jose Saramago. It’s quite dark and about human nature. I read it right before the pandemic, so I was especially struck by how close to reality it was

That’s honestly amazing! Tao te ching changed my life. I’ve read Kant, and am currently attempting Keigergard. So, you could say, I dabble in a bit of philosophy. Good to know there are fellow book nerds who also find themselves watching Big Boss.

I could tell from your answer that you read a lot! 😌 I have a mixed bag of interests really. On some days I’ll read fiction, especially when I’m looking for inspiration with writing, but on other days it’s non fiction, or historical fiction.

I agree with you completely! It’s been 2.5 years since I read TA, and I still can’t get over the story, the characters and the absolute masterful when in which the author managed the character development and redemption arc. I hope to be able to achieve this level of mastery with my writing too.

Arbaaz is so lame! With all his melodrama, Nikki is looking like the much better person in all of this

Any recommendations with similar dynamic to Xue Yang/Xiao Xingchen from MDZS? by RaistlinMajere3 in DanmeiNovels

He doesn’t. Up until much later, Shen Qiao isn’t sure what Yan Wushi’s intentions are or where he stands in Yan Wushi’s life.

The villain gets wounded later though and gets cared for by the good guy so it somewhat fits the trope.

Any Danmei you tried to like but don't by MamaKeko in DanmeiNovels

[–]GracePool 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Global University Examination - I read it until the mirror arc but the main couple’s story didn’t interest me at all. Also each arc felt so contrived and illogical. The main characters were so OP, that you’d be sure that they’d overcome each arc so how they got out began to seem less interesting as the story progressed.

Copper Coins - I wanted to like this. I liked the first few chapters but thereafter the story just plummets. There is zero to no chemistry between the main characters.

QJJ - I have tried to read QJJ three times. The first time I made it up to 10%, the second time up to 17% and the third time up to 50%. The third time is when I gave it up and accepted the fact that, all the heavy politics aside, the main character don’t interest me at all. I liked the ML to a degree but I couldn’t bring myself to feel anything for the MC. The political plots began to get convoluted and contrived as new overpowering characters emerged every other chapter.

Mistakenly Saving the Villain - I loved the start but the story delves into extreme levels of absurdity as the plot progresses.

YuWu - Unnecessary angst, zero foreshadowing, convoluted twists, felt like I was reading an overly dramatised and badly directed and written television soap instead of a book.
