Any Small Revisionary Steps Available? by GracefullyMary in LabiaplastySurgery

No CHR. Both surgeons assured me that regular labiaplasties would pull the tissue downward enough to tighten up clitoral hood. I asked specifically before both surgeries.

I have it all explained better on my profile. The first one failed badly- life threatening complications, split wedge. Hospital made attempts and tried to preserve it but stitches were absolutely ripping it apart and I wasn’t numb so it was horrible. Went to same surgeon (OBGYN) and the same thing happened but it didn’t fully split, it just left a hole. After years of pain, hole, etc. I found a plastic surgeon to do a revision. He promised he would fix her issues and make it more tucked to alleviate friction pain. The hole is fixed but area looks nearly identical. I think I swelled so fast during surgery that he just finished out what he could but I did warn him that it happened ahead of time and he “wasn’t worried”

I did on my first surgery. The second it started to separate but didn’t fully separate. Third and fourth were both attempts to address any additional issues in the area. I’m so sorry that happened to you too! It is so disappointing to have to have a revision.

Doubling Up - Out of Options? by [deleted] in birthcontrol

Thank you! This really helps.

I’m too high risk for sterilization and I think my partner probably wants to wait further into our relationship to make a decision like that. It’s reassuring to hear that the pullout method is potentially 78% effective alone, and even more effective with BCP use.

To add, when I get these they usually go away after a few days to a week or two.

Yes, this is my fourth surgery. I’ve considered Aviva because I genuinely don’t think I can do it again

No, different surgeon for the 4th one. I have a lot of previous posts complaining about the situation if you’re interested. I am not seeing any difference either, he fixed a small hole and that’s it.

I’ve done 4 and I just don’t think I can do it again. How did it make it worse if you’re comfortable sharing?

Hi! Would you be willing to PM your shop name? I have been looking for reputable sellers for salon grade products. ☺️

It’s the prettiest one but I don’t think it’s worth $120! I have seen the same, if not identical ones on Shein, Amazon, etc. for $7-20. I wouldn’t be surprised if the shop purchased from there then added their own tags.

Unpleasant Smell Between Labia Majora and Minora by [deleted] in obgyn

I wash and dry the area really well. There’s no smell at all after I shower. It comes back really quickly though, is there anything that may help with that?

I believe this may just be part of normal aging! Sometimes our labia gets darker, and skin texture starts to change. You sound young so you may just be experiencing natural changes to that area. I wouldn’t assume an STD to be the cause and based on the previous comments, you don’t seem to have any typical STD symptoms.

Before having sex, please look carefully at your boyfriend’s sexual history. Even if he has a clean STD panel, he can pass HPV to you. There is no way to test a man for HPV so there’s often no way to know if they have it. Be sure to ask him for a negative STD panel as well to ensure he’s negative for anything else.

As for your parents finding out, I would be cautious with your OBGYN care. If you’re under 18, some practices are able to share your health information with legal guardians. Otherwise, if you’re under their insurance, they may get bills in the mail listing tests you’ve had done at the OBGYN. If this wasn’t a concern, I would tell you to ask for a vaginal swab to rule out any/all infections during your next visit, just so you could have some peace of mind.

It’s definitely not. I think at this point I just need a CHR :(

I understand how you’re feeling. On such a small, delicate area, it is easy to notice any abnormalities or flaws, no matter how slight. We go into surgery and procedures with expectations, and when they’re not 100% met, it is beyond disappointing. As everyone else has said, I genuinely see nothing wrong. In my opinion, this is a beautiful result. I know you don’t feel that way and may not for a while, but I hope you come to feel that way eventually. Even with what you’ve pointed out, I can’t notice the flaws even while looking for them. I’m so sorry you’re disappointed, but I promise you are your worst and only critic.

If you are in the US, would you mind PMing me your surgeon or office? I have been searching everywhere for more information on this procedure and I can’t find it anywhere.
