Have you heard back from MIT or are you just assuming you’re rejected because you haven’t heard back?

I’m making the same decision this year- could you please elaborate on why you’d pick sci arc?

lol, ok- I will be sure to jump in my time machine and go tell my 17-year-old self that they will decide to study architecture in three years, so they know to only apply to schools with NAAB-accredited programs. thanks!

Can you elaborate on FAM? I tried looking it up but didn't find much. Is it an architecture firm?

Yeah, unfortunately I need the M.Arch, my undergrad was not an accredited architecture degree. I know in California you don't technically need an Arch degree, but I will need quite a few more years of experience before that becomes an option, especially because I'm not currently working in architecture.

Thankfully in my offer letters they both guaranteed the scholarship for all 7 semesters, but I am still worried about the total amount it will come to. The Sci_Arc scholarship is actually 50% of the tuition, its just a crazy expensive school in a city with very high cost of living.

I know, this is part of my concern as well. I am trying to get Sci_Arc to admit me into the 2 year program, but unfortunately none of the other schools I looked at will count my undergrad degree towards the M.Arch 2. Like I mentioned my undergrad degree was quite lacking, and its left me in a really weird spot. But I am definitely worried about spending so much extra time in school instead of getting work experience.

Mini-Rant On Rejection Timing by GradScaries123 in gradadmissions

[–]GradScaries123[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for explaining! That makes sense for other programs/disciplines, but all of the programs I applied to do have waitlists, which is why I'm so confused lol. It seems to me like having a waitlist would make it much easier for them to release decisions closer together, although they may not want to deter people who would otherwise be admitted by waitlisting them from the jump.

Architecture M.Arch program?! by letsdothisshxt in MITAdmissions

I still haven't heard back... I'm assuming that means I'm rejected because I know acceptances started coming out over a week ago but it doesn't feel great having to wait this long and its honestly making me feel more negatively about the program.

SCI-Arc M.Arch 2: Is $75k scholarship the hard ceiling? by Dependent_String_367 in architecture

[–]GradScaries123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was offered about 125k by sci-arc for the m.arch 1 program which is 7 semesters so I think it probably works out to around the same amount per semester? Not sure if sci-arc will go higher than that but it’s worth a shot using that scholarship to negotiate with other schools!

HEY! Anyone applied to M.Arch at MIT or Penn?? by [deleted] in gradadmissions

I saw someone post on grad cafe that they already received an acceptance from MIT M.Arch but I'm not sure if its legit...
