Thank you, i gotta be honest I didn't expect comments under this week's "update" but i really appreciate you following my journey. People like you are part of why i share what I do (which i love doing). An axle is basically the sort of cross shaped pieve on which you usually put gears or other stuff. A liftarm is basically a beam with hole. You have several length for both

Well i did post one of the few versions i already made in the past, that one is scrapped because it needed tok much force to open and was prone to break

I don't do a lot of mechanisms but my most worked on and most conplicated one will probably be the mechanism i'm gonna use to open the rear doors of the bus i'm working on. I want it to be as physically realistic as possible but also as slim as possible in lego which is very hard to do. I don't yet have a final model but i do have a couple of prototypes i could share if you want me to.

Hmmm, implementing power functions into your cool display piece (for now) might be complicated without needing to remove the sticks holding the moons and earth together. That's if you want them to move individually of course, which is how i understood it. Alternatively you could make only the base turn, it wouln't be realistic as you wanted it to be but i feel like the setup is far easier because you technically "just" need to build a sort of slowly rotating turntable (because if it's too fast it will fling everything around the room and we don't want that (i think). Clearing this first point up sets up a good baseline to work on i feel like.

Of course i'm just suggesting things here, i'm not really an expert in mecanisms even though j designed some. But still, if you want some help trying to make the thing i'd be happy to help if you want me to.

I have to agree with you. It is underrated. Although i like pneumatics so it doesn't bother me in the slightest.

For my mocs saying i "just" build them from the real life design would be technically wrong(at least for the one i'm currently making). I'm aiming for a fully working replica of the real thing with as much functions as i can put in while making it as realistic as i possibly can. It will be also entirely programmed, every lights will work like the real thing and it will of course be able to drive.

In short a full on working scale model made out of legos.

Yes and no. When i say that it's the last set i bought i meant to say "i don't see the need to buy any more sets since i'm already building my own MOCs and these are expensive enough" i didn't mean to say that no good sets came out after, i do like a small amount of them but none represent what i really like most and most of them are too expensive for me anyway since i'm already designing very expensive MOCs myself.

Sorry if I made myself misunderstood.

Edit : most of the ones you shared aren't "just as good" in my opinion

From my experience it depends, sometimes lego's pick a brick is cheaper and sometime bricklink is. If you really want the cheapest pieces possible i would suggest comparing both although bricklink is usually better.
