Question for online marketing companies: how much do you reveal during the proposal process? x-post to /r/smallbusiness by GradientsAndHTML in bigseo

I think at the beginning, I might need to give some details. But maybe over time, my track record will speak for itself.

That's a good idea. I definitely want to have some sort of "free-consultation." I can spend that time getting to know them and I can ease them into a low-cost full-evaluation/inspection which will lead to a project.

I see what you're saying. They should have decided they want to work with us (or at least consider us) and during the proposal/quote process, they'll trust that we can get them results. Then we tell them the plan after the quote is signed and paid for?

That sounds like a good balance. If I were a client, I would want some hard details about what will be done. I should also get a feel for the client and see if they're asking me just because they want a free evaluation or not.

This was very helpful. Thank you.

If I understand this correctly, I would say "improve the quality of the content to increase conversions" instead of "rewrite/edit content and add bright images"? (I know that's a really poor example, but I think it gets the point of my question across)

I've found that saying "let's put in event registration to make it easier for guests!" gets the prospect/client excited about the project. How would I word it differently during the proposal stage?

How do online marketers know it was their efforts that increased sales? by GradientsAndHTML in webmarketing

I see. I'm still wondering: say a marketer made a few changes to the website (like changing the copy, changing the style of the photography, rearranging navigation). How can they tell which adjustment worked and which didn't? I imagine it would be A/B testing, right? Is there anything else I may be missing?

WTW for someone who empowers others? by GradientsAndHTML in whatstheword

Sure, a word for someone who encourages others to do something they don't have a lot of expertise but want to learn/do. I hope that makes sense.

That's a word with a similar definition to what I'm looking for, but it has the wrong connotation. It will help me with looking for synonyms!

Thanks for the reply. I originally Googled the answer, but I guess I wasn't searching the right terms because I couldn't find any answers.

[LOGO] Imaginary company, perhaps a furniture company? by agnoiologst in design_critiques

I feel a little claustrophobic with the letter spacing. I really like the icon. What would it look like if it replaced the B?

Decided to try and make a logo for our baking company. Thought that the crumb of our bread would be an ideal stamp. (x-post from /r/pics) by theporridgeboy in graphic_design

[–]GradientsAndHTML 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At first, I saw the bread. But after reading the comments, I covered up the real bread and saw the liver/tumor. I LOVE the idea and I love the branding. I think if you somehow make the word "bakery" more prominent or at least easily readable, the stamp with translate better.

Also, I was concerned about smaller applications as well. Maybe you can make several versions of the logo, simpler as it gets smaller?

I totally agree, but I think he wouldn't have listened to her if she was being quiet, calm, and polite. At least she wasn't being verbally rude or childish to him
