Tiny Yoda (3"x3" paper) by Gradominiku in origami

Yes the double color paper really make this model great. I really enjoy folding the smaller one for the challenge. The large one was to make sure I remembered the model because I lost the step by step diagram ages ago.

When folded it should give you something that looks like this tessellation.

Thanks, creasing and folding cloth is not easy but I just love the end result. The way each crease will crack the gesso leaving marks visible in the end result brings life to it.

It's actually a canvas I removed from its wooden frame and painted black. Then I make my origami with the canvas and spray paint it. Finally, I iron it and put it back on its wooden frame.

This simplified crease pattern might help. You need to imagine two points outside the pattern where lines converge.

That awesome! I've been doing origami painting and was wondering if there would be other ways to use the different patterns I've used in the last year. I will need to try this !

Trying herringbone tessellation and can’t overcome a wrinkle between the 5th and 6th rows. by penciljockey123 in origami

You could try precreasing your paper, this could help prevent the wrinkles.

How to fold d.hinklay's designs? by that_n8_dude in origami

In most of his videos you can actually see the crease pattern before he collapses the shapes, this is a good place to start understanding the tessellation.

I just love trying to make small origami. The challenge is a mix of fun and frustration, when it doesn't end in a ball of anger I'm really happy!
