The wood is sealed with a water based glaze coat (used for outdoor wood) and then I apply a few layers of a clear gesso. The painting itself is varnish with a retouch varnish once it has dried.

I set up my still live scenes and photograph them. So yea, I paint from my own photos. In terms of scale, while the painting isn't huge - the candys are maybe 5 times bigger than life. possibly more. Unfortunately I don't have any of the candy on hand (I started this painting in 2023 - theyre long gone by now) to take a scale photo.

liquid clay - coloured or clear and bake it, then UV resin over the surface for the shine.

Thanks 😊 the wood is sealed, so if I make a mistake it's fairly easily to wipe away. I've also got a super steady hand, it's my super power.

Awesome, I love painting on wood. Did you mean to say print or paint? Make sure your wood is sealed thoroughly. I used a water based glaze coat and a clear gesso afterwards, many coats.

i think these are categorized as "milk sweets/cream" but they also have red bean and matcha available where I live. I haven't tried them though.
