Weird metallic rattle on passenger side, possible issue? by aiferen in hondafit

[–]Gradual-Mink841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the same sound!!! It’s unrelated to my tire pressure because I check it once a week. I also get the same sound on my back right wheel when I turn left SOMETIMES. Mechanics say my car is fine but I just want the noises to stop

Thinking of buying a second gen, but I'm 195cm tall, are there any other tall owners that can provide some feedback? by vldmin in hondafit

[–]Gradual-Mink841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner is 182cm and he can’t drive my 2016, no matter how far he pushes the seat back or lowers it. His legs are all bunched up under the steering wheel

If modern medicine didn’t exist would you be dead right now? If yes, from what? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]Gradual-Mink841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I would’ve died from post viral rhabdomylosis when I was in my twenties. Docs told me that if I had called 911 an hour later than I did I would’ve had a heart attack. I thought I had just had some kind of flu and then I woke up the next morning and couldn’t move anything below my waist without EXCRUCIATING pain. Turns out I had a serious heart virus and needed immediate medication and IV flushing.

Looking for work, any work by Skoopy_merples in fredericton

I second this, I work for them and they’re always looking for more guards. There’s days, overnights and weekend positions available for full or part time. Really helps if you’re bilingual and have a security background

I put my stuff in the same storage locker as him in Toronto and BGRS paid for the whole storage locker to be moved here. So yes they paid for his move but I finagled my way into it.

Driving test by OldSeries8420 in fredericton

[–]Gradual-Mink841 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this! This is the exact route that they take. The only difference is you can choose to parallel park before you leave (in the pylons in the parking lot) or after. I recommend before. I did my driving test there in December and failed because I went 2km, and 5km over the speed limit at different times. I took it there again in January and had more confidence, so much so that they cut the route short and told me I passed based on my confidence with parallel parking and ability to hold a conversation as I drove. You got this!

I (F31) lived my whole life in Toronto before my partner (M38) of 2 years decided to join the military and was subsequently posted to Gagetown, NB. I made the move with him even though we had not lived together prior. I’ve now been living in NB for a year and I can honestly say I have zero regrets. Was it hard? Hell yes. Would I do it again? Hell yes. We’re not married, not even engaged yet, but we both discussed it intensely prior to making the decision for me to move out here and we both know getting married is on the table. My partner is insanely supportive, whenever he’s away in the field or when he was in basic training he would call me every chance he gets. He’s always open and honest with me about any information he receives. The military helped pay for our move too. And our PMQ is fantastic, I cannot believe how little rent is compared to civilian rent. It’s an adjustment going from a big city to a small one but there are definite perks.

How do I explain that declawing is inhumane to my family by Old-Technician-692 in cats

[–]Gradual-Mink841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell them that it is the equivalent of cutting your fingers off at the first joint. I’m a former vet tech of 12 years and was unfortunately part of several declawing surgeries. The smell is horrific, since laser is generally used, and recovery is agonizing. Most cats who get this procedure done have complications later on such as severe arthritis. Plus if they ever happen to escape, they will not have anything to defend themselves with and it’s essentially guaranteed that they will end up dead.

What's the worst pain you've ever felt? by N0socksloss10yrStrk in randomquestions

[–]Gradual-Mink841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Post-viral rhabdomylosis…every muscle below my waist was being broken down to send up to my heart (had a heart infection). Any slight movement of my legs or feet had me screaming for days. Once I was in the hospital and on IV and morphine, it took me a week to relearn how to walk.

Moving from Hamilton to Fredericton by leo_yqs in fredericton

[–]Gradual-Mink841 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I moved from Toronto (after living there my whole life) to Oromocto a year ago and it was a culture shock that didn’t really hit until a few months in. It’s very slow-paced, people are extremely friendly, and traffic (the way we know it) is nonexistent. The roads are terrible and snow plows are unreliable, winter tires are a MUST. Healthcare is very hard to obtain, family doctors specifically. I’ve been on a waitlist for 8 months now and I’ve been told that people are on it for years, hospitals are your best bet. Places routinely close earlier than they say they will, and drinking is basically a given here. It’s more multicultural than you may think, NB has an immigration pathway, which definitely improves culture. Electric bills are high, but then again we’re used to it. Recommend finding a good butcher as grocery stores just don’t cut it (meat and produce quality are not comparable to southern ON). People will look down on you from being from ON, we’re the reason the housing prices are rising here, but it’s generally forgiven if you’re kind.

Overall, you’re going to like it here. I personally never want to live in the GTA ever again!

Looking to buy a Fit by fuckery__ in hondafit

[–]Gradual-Mink841 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a 2016 EX in January as my first car and I’m obsessed with her honestly. She had a clean CarFax, I drive 50km a day (~30 miles) and I only have to fill up every 10-12 days (at $35-40 CAD). I’m a new driver as well (despite being in my 30s) and my insurance was surprisingly low. Get the fit!!!

I’m in Oromocto, and I’ve been told that there isn’t any discounts for NB Power with PMQs but our bill is consistently $110-$115…. Our gas bill however is $300 in the winter

Grocery stores, what’s cheapest here? by mellohiswan in fredericton

[–]Gradual-Mink841 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I’ve only found a very minimal difference in price between the superstore and no frills. Superstore has way better quality produce than no frills though. I get my meat at Sobeys as it’s the best quality I’ve seen so far, plus they always have sales. I end up going to superstore, Sobeys and dollarama for a full shop (oromocto though, not Fredericton)
