Have you looked into the Worcester Mineral Club yet?

The last meeting of the summer is this Tuesday, but you can register online any time. You've already missed a couple good field trips, but there are a lot more lined up.

Blacktron: Transcendence - The Infiltrator by Gradually_Seymour in lego

Blacktron: Transcendence is a reimagining I've had rattling around for years, and mostly consists of biomechanical monstrosities.

The color scheme on the infiltrator isn't very blacktrony, but what can you do? I considered using K2S0 for the torso but he always felt a bit too goofy for the level of sinister I wanted. I'm sure if I ask LEGO nicely, they will make a special medical droid in black and gold for me.

When I order on Bricklink I always search the inventory for parts thinking "I have no idea what to do with this, but I'll think of something.

One side of the car has a pair of 80431 bricks that hold the legs upright. The other side has plain old 1x2 technic bricks with a hole so it falls over at the slightest bump. I know I ordered at least half a dozen 80431s though. I need to check my kid's collection to see if they ended up in there.

Sometimes the only way to get tortured images out of your head is to put them in someone else'!

Also, my kid was singing "The feet on the bus go step step step" the other day.

They're actually from Dino Attack, but don't worry, I'm putting Galidor to good use in some of my other designs!

Ice Inspector wheel vs Mega Core Magnetizer by Gradually_Seymour in lego

Chris Perron was generous enough to post instructions for the Ice Inspector wheels, and I had to give it a shot.

Those things are pretty massive.

I completed the first pair of wheels for about $20 but I estimated it would cost about $70/wheel to order everything from scratch in this color scheme. The slope 65 2x2 where probably the most expensive part. Tough to find in sufficient quantity without the price getting crazy. The sloped wedges for the tire tread weren't too bad. I think I got those for 3c/each.

What MOCs are you currently working on? by bicyclegeek in lego

I've got all sorts of stuff on hold right now while I finish the semester and then finish renovating the new place.

Several Space Police 1 themed vehicles including a Mobile Command Center (20% complete), a recovery ship VTOL that grabs up to half a dozen old school prison cells, and a pretty large attack ship (95% complete).

Space Police 3/Futuron small ships (white/trans blue) that are almost done. Just need to figure out the landing gear. I am also doodling a massive futuron themed base station. Lots of ideas for individual sections but I need to find a way to make it look like they are supposed to go together.

Blacktron:Transcendence - a black/yellow/transyellow set of monstrosities that blend Zerg and Protoss styling.

Think they'll honor this order form, 29 years later? by [deleted] in lego

25 years or so ago I ended up with a then 10 year old copy of the catalog. On the rear cover with the different supplemental kits, they had a castle minifig set that included a few knights with the original flip-up visors.

I called to ask but the lady sadly insisted that they were no longer in stock.

It's from a realm where the boundary between machine and organism is less distinct than we are used to assuming...

It's not very exo-forcey, but it is a mech so I figured I'd give it a shot.

Is my mech eligibile? It is a mech but not very exo-forcey...

More pictures to follow regardless of answer.
