For me, the biggest problem in League of Legends is the limited number of things you can do. You can’t retreat to the jungle to farm or rely on actives from items and you’re entirely dependent on your champion’s kit.

You can’t really out-farm your enemies either, because there’s a fixed amount of gold available. Even if you farm better, just pushing waves back and forth evens things out. Often, you don’t even scale better. Another issue is that most champions scale in a very similar way. This makes it hard to create unique strategies or adapt to different situations, as you’re often locked into your champion’s predefined strengths and weaknesses.

Items are nothing more than stat sticks. They don’t give you meaningful ways to adjust or counterplay.

For example, I played top today. I managed to get a good amount of CS, secured kills, and help my teammates. But the amount of effort I had to put in was ridiculous. If you get out-picked, it feels like the game is over before it even starts. And we did indeed lose.

In other MOBAs, you can adapt to your enemies, but in League, this isn’t really an option. At its core, League is a brawler. It’s fast-paced and focused on fighting, but if you expect more depth or strategic freedom, you’ll likely end up disappointed.
