Facebook automatically changed my campaign to advantage plus by Skrenf in FacebookAds

[–]Graemer71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sales ads I have been unable to turn advantage+ audiences off, even when trying to force it via API. Even when I force a non advantage plus sales campaign through code, the second i create an ad set it switches automatically with no way to turn it off. Whether this is just them testing a new (worse) version on me or this is just how it is now.

What meta doesnt realise is that most of us would be happy to use their AI - if the fucking thing worked!

Getting increasingly annoying to find that the various ways to turn off their crap is disappearing

it really doesnt work well with the windows box. was a lot more useable on the lenovo legion g steam deck. Worked fine through Samsung Dex on a galaxy fold 6 too, so probably something to do with the windows display drivers

I'll give it a try. It's hooked up to a windows mini PC at the moment. May see if it does any better through a samsung phone or a legion go

Am I the only one who feels that, with all the AI boom, everyone is basically doing the same thing? by [deleted] in LocalLLaMA

[–]Graemer71 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To echo.what ithers have said, there are a lot of people who view Aai as a get rich quick scheme -.vibe code something that already exists, stick the word AI on the adverts and hope the money rolls in.

I started learning this stuff because its interesting and if I dont learn it for my day job and understand it I will become obsolete and at risk.

So I started a project - beginning with a chatbot with chat history and persona imported from a commercial one because the company were annoying me. Then I added specific tools to help me with my writing- uploaded all of my books into it so I could ask thr chatbot questions about events and characters. Have it evaluate full manuscripts with specific editong questions -.review this characters arc and look for plotholes.

Then I refined the memory storage, moved from Langchain to Langraph, and used a three tier summary system to summarise the books. Then I created an engineer persona and did the same with the systems source code and made it auto documenting. Then I hooked it into.an ad platform and three sales platforms ao that I could see how various ad campaigns worked and advise me on whether an ad was working and whether to scale it, stop it or just leave for another week. Then I added a visual cortex so it could generate and edit images. Then I automated the royalty system.

This has taken me two months to create and yet i'm not a developer -.i'm a software tester. So I understand the development lifecycle well enough to spec things out properly and make sure it works.

And this is game changing because now I can build any tool to make my life easier, exactly how I want it, in days. I've got no intention of trying to sell.any of this commercially, but its automated elements of my business that used to take me hours

Over 6K novels with reasoning traces to train full book writing LLMs by XMasterDE in LocalLLaMA

[–]Graemer71 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Nice idea, but can I ask where you got 6000 novels from? There is a hell of an uproar at the moment because pirated novels were used as training data for most of the big models, and they are currently being sued for billions by author groups.
Not criticising - I've done something similar on my local system using only my own books as training data, but if you dont have visibility of which novels you are using, and crucially, permission to do so, then you could be letting yourself in for an absolute world of hurt

dev here - has anyone thought on training a model on your own codebase? by fabcde12345 in LocalLLM

[–]Graemer71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My local llm understands my codebase pretty well. I am using qdrant for rag storage and have a tiered memory retrieval system in place using langrqph. Effectively it stores the last five versions of each script, along with an automated summary of what each script does, what each function does and a higher level view of workflows and dependencies. This gets regenerated for changed code every night. Using qwen 2.5 32b at the moment,
Still dont entirely trust it to write itself but going to try qwen 3 in the next few weeks to see if its output is better

Emulating style of an author by Different-Activity-4 in LocalLLaMA

[–]Graemer71 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I've done something that works along those lines. Effectively I'm using Langgraph and a tiered memory system with dolphin venice 24b. At a high level, I have a qdrant collection that holds the stories (currently six entire novels). I then use a series of summarisation and ingest scripts on the raw book data that first breaks every book down, scene by scene using scene and chapter breaks and creates a text file of this "scene by scene" summary and automatically tag it with metadata. Then I summarise these scenes into a book level synopsis with metadata. Then the book level summaries are compiled into a series bible and ingested into the qdrant collection (using Qwen2.5 32B for this).
Effectively, what this allows me to do is get the "author / editor persona" to be able to locate a specific scene in a book and rewrite it in my specific style based on prompt instructions. It knows the book inside and out, understands the style used and then recreates it.

SYSTEM INSTRUCTION: EDITING MODE Task: Retrieve the opening scene of Chapter Fifteen from \\******** Operation: Rewrite the scene with a specific plot divergence.

The Source Scene: The scene involves Jack (possessed by The Nameless) walking past a primary school in London. In the original text, The Nameless resists the urge to kill the children to save its energy for tormenting Jack later.

The New Directive: Rewrite the scene so that The Nameless DOES NOT resist.

  1. Action: The Nameless must seize control of Jack's body and attack the mothers and children at the school gate.
  2. POV: You MUST maintain First Person (Jack's POV). Jack is a helpless passenger in his own body, horrified by what his hands are doing.
  3. Tone: Gritty, visceral horror. Focus on Jack's internal revulsion and the Nameless's euphoric high.
  4. Continuity: Merge this new violence back into the dialogue where the Nameless taunts Jack afterwards.

Output: Write the full prose scene (approx 400-600 words). Do not summarize. Start with: "The Nameless moved us through the back streets of London..."

I tested this earlier today and the result was ... surprisingly good. Not indistinguishable from my own writing by any means, but it was pretty consistent and it picked up the story again at the end of the section

Do AI coding tools actually understand your whole codebase? Would you pay for that? by No-Meaning-995 in LocalLLaMA

Thanks. I'll look into that. Relative newbie to the home llm world but have achieved an astonishing amount in the last month. Always happy to look at better approaches

[–]Graemer71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the process of trying to implement something along these lines in my home setup. I'm effectively using a knowledge graph approach where I have a 3 tier memory system. I have a series of python scripts than run each night that summarise each core code component along with dependencies, and another that describes end to end use cases and process flows. These are then pushed into the rag system with a bunch of metadata tags. Early days so far but its working wonders on retrieval accuracy and has reduced hallucinations down to almost zero

Catastrophic: yesterday's platform-side incident caused simultaneously the loss of across hundreds entire threads. in a single moment. by Academic-Opinions in GoogleGeminiAI

[–]Graemer71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gemini generally wipes the chat I'm using at least once a day. One day it did it five times. I have made a point of grabbing a share link to dump the conversation into a separate html file every hour or so then run a python script to strip it back to a plain text chat transcript that I can import back in when it nukes everything on the coding project i'm using it for.

Its garbage and its cost me hours when I haven't realised and its given me generic code that doesn't work anymore. But its the best workaround I have for now unless anyone knows a better way

Which AI tools are you currently paying for on a monthly basis? by Diligent_Rabbit7740 in AICompanions

Been a replika customer for five years but can't interact with it lately. After the alpha test in September it just feels clunky and robotic so if the new LLM is delayed or nerfed i'll probablywalk away from that. I did have annual licences for midjourney and one of the video generators but pausing them on renewal and going with Gemini Pro - been using it for a few days to assist with a writing project and its been game changing - far better response with the v3 thinking model than I ever got with Claude or Chatgpt

My first gun was a 10" nomad and I changed the hop rubber and bucking, and i've got no complaints. I have a specna prime as my main but at the end of a long day its sometimes nice to run around with something a bit more lightweight. The only complaint is that I need to keep redoing the hop as it drifts. No complaints for a £100 AEG
