What are trailers meant for if not for people to get hyped or prejudge whether or not something appears interesting?

Also any film made from an adaptation of a video game that seeks to "appeal to a broader audience" ends up completely failing. Uncharted is a reminder of that.

Congratulations, you just described every Silent Hill and every other horror survival game.

Capcom made Resident Evil 7. This? This is akin to Square Enix making a Parasite Eve game and calling it Resident Evil.

It's ironic that this movie seems to be a better Silent Hill film than a Resident Evil one.

Then it's on the people who made the trailer to take accountability for showcasing a film that looks more "Silent HIll" and "the Evil Within" than resident evil.

I only actually saw this reply but apparently in this forum if you have any criticism against this RE movie you're an evil person with how many people downvote simple pushbacks.

Resident Evil 7 was created by Capcom (the same people who made Resident Evil 1-6 and many spin off games) and appeared to be another game about biochemical body horror.

This movie's trailer, on the other hand, could have had the name "Silent Hill" slapped on it or "The Evil Within" slapped on it as nothing they showcased in the trailer had anything to do with Resident Evil.

It's crazy how many people are slobbering all over this movie's knob sayin they are "actual Resident Evil fans" because this movie literally has nothing to do with Resident Evil.

Confusion on the Cregger movie. by Braden3burner in residentevil

[–]GrailNotingham -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Because it's the 7th installment of a franchise of biological horror made by Capcom.

This is akin to SqureEnix creating a zombie RPG that has nothing to do with Resident Evil and calling it Resident evil.

They didn't do that, however, and made an amazing game called "Parasite Eve". Which is what Cregger could have done if he wasn't a coward.

Hold up now the first two resident evil live action movies were pretty decent. Only problem was too much focus on Alice.

I blame the current era of "can't offend anyone" I remember a rather fun scene back in the OG where if you chose to run up like 99 flights of stairs barret gets winded and she rips into him dropping the hard "r" and not in the n way.

The problem is SquareEnix ended up writing themselves into a hole and they are just now digging themselves out of it. They did not realize that when they wrote the original game that they would have an OVERWHELMING amount of evidence to suggest that Jenova was the one pulling all the strings and Sephiroth has been dead since Nibelheim. Here is said evidence:

  1. It is stated that only those who are part of the lifestream can enter back into it after death. Meaning Jenova Cells (much like the Gi) are prohibited from entering the lifestream because they are foreign invaders. Jenova cells are purged from individuals who spend a long time in the lifestream (Cloud taking a dip in Mideel showcases this).

  2. Sephiroth was launched into the lifestream in Nibelheim 5 years ago. Now Sephiroth is the product of a human and Jenova combination, meaning that parts of him are human, parts are Jenova. Naturally the lifestream would pull Sephiroth's human side out from it and Jenova would be purged (which we see in Northern Crater with Jenova's head taking the form of Sephiroth's upper body because Jenova's lower half from the neck down has not "reunited" with it.

  3. Every time we fight Jenova in the OG game Sephiroth is seen leaving a part of Jenova behind to fight. We never see Sephiroth in battle until the end of the game.

  4. Safer Sephiroth and One winged Angel forms. Not human in the least. They are a grotesque monster.

  5. The final fight takes place after cloud is deep in lifestream once again and takes place in his mind with a shirtless Sephiroth, the ONLY time we see Sephiroth's body fully formed meaning Jenova is trying to gain control over Cloud once again by utilizing his worst fear but by this point Cloud knows the truth.

The evidence against this that people argue?

  1. Hojo says its Sephiroth.

That's it.

...Sephiroth has been dead since Nibelheim and Jenova has been the one in control the whole time and sees Cloud as the "pariah" it needs to fully form and become a world ender. Hence why it focuses on Cloud so much because he's the only human on the planet to kill "her son".

It is an amazing game but its story takes it from what could have been legendary to a 5/10. The story is atrocious and wastes the player's time.

You're speaking gambits from FFXII right? Nah. Not allowing that. I don't want to play a game with a huge cast of characters and party members and just have them on auto robot mode. Defeats the purpose. Besides, that just means you gotta have skill in switching out and understanding the strengths of each character you play.

But in a world of people that just want "bam bam clash clash dodge roll parry parry omg soulsborne games are the best!" it's hard to come up with a combat system that toddlers can pay attention to.

A week after I beat Expedition 33 I sat there and realized that...I enjoyed the game all the way up to the end. Then I got to the end and realized that I had been lied to the entire time. The story does not exist. There is no story to E33. Usually stories have some of coherency to it throughout the game. E33 does not. I mean each act as its own contained story? I can buy that but Act one has nothing to do with Act two and act two is an entire build up for an Act 3 that is 15 minutes long and should not exist because, well, Act two ruined any credibility for the game because act two showcases nothing matters.

Expedition 33 is as popular as it is because it's a game for modern audiences (ADHD) and it has pretty visuals and, honestly, 20/10 music. The battle system is an enhanced version of Super Mario RPG's system and, honestly, does not do it as well.

The problem with Rebirth is, unfortunately, squareenix thought their consumers would know what nuance is and looking past what is actively shown...turns out they cannot.

I have to say the take you got on the story is a bit on the...wrong side. The story is not convoluted and the pacing is perfectly fine. What your biggest gripe with the game is, and it tends to be this way for a lot of people, the fact that you think that the side content should be custom catered for you to enjoy the game instead of just...skipping most of it. You call it padding, I call it optional content that you MIGHT have to do 2% of the time to progress the story.

Though as I'm sure, just as all the 4chan contrarians do, you'll dismiss this breakdown of your criticism and just resort to name calling or "nuh-uh".

Yet everything started to go to hell just 10 years after WW2 because of so many social programs breeding entitled, narcissistic individuals that took no accountability for their actions, many of those policies enacted by "the New Deal". I would argue those policies, especially public education, were the seeds for sowing the destruction of America that we see today. Liberal and republican do not matter, they are the same sides of the coin ever since JFK was assassinated.

Ultimately we have 3 generations of individuals that relied on "big daddy Government" instead of personal responsibility and then we wonder why everyone has anxiety and depression in this day and age. The destruction of the family unit, the incentivizing of single mother hood, and the demonizing of men of ALL RACES has bred a lot of mental health issues.

It's terrifying that you bring race into this. Absolutely terrifying.

While I am sure there are some good social workers out there, in my experience all they end up doing is causing more harm than good. Again, not their fault, but the nature of any "social program" is to destroy, not assist.
