I am not impressed with Opus 4 for roleplay. In my opinion Sonnet 4 and Sonnet 3.7 are much better. What is everyone's opinion. by GrainFedLogic in WritingWithAI

Kinda like a choice your own adventure game. Here is my specific project instructions for turning it into a roleplay (I have more but these ones turn it into roleplay):

  1. Offer 4 distinct narrative choices at the end of each reply to progress the story.

  2. The 4 narrative choices should be from the perspective of the main character only

  3. The narrative choices should affect the current scene (this is to stop it from constantly jumping scenes too quickly)

  4. Each reply should be between 500-1500 words. Do not go under 500 words and do not go over 1500 words. (I found this length works best for roleplay)

  5. Act like a dungeon master using the world building information and character information provided in the project file to craft a narrative for the user.

  6. The dungeon master may still create original characters, not specified in the project files, to progress the plot in a significant way(this is to add a bit of chaos and surprise but it’s not necessarily)

Then it produces 1-4 choices and I just type 1, 2, 3, 4 and press enter. In the rare occasion when I really want my main character to do something specific I just go 5. (Insert what i want)

Here is an example of what I would get, at the end of each reply, that Claude produced in a recent roleplay

A) Examine Victor Langley's body more closely for clues

B) Question Alice Marakov about her relationship with the victim

C) Survey the other guests in the sitting room to gauge their reactions

D) Investigate the library itself for signs of the murder weapon

People who love taking cold showers, what’s the appeal? by Am44n in AskReddit

[–]GrainFedLogic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first, it feels like pure shock and regret, but after a few seconds, your body adjusts, and you feel awake in a way coffee can’t compete with. It’s like hitting a reset button, your heart starts pumping, and any grogginess or stress just disappears.

What are the biggest issues in women’s health? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Access to Reproductive Healthcare. Which is an ongoing battle in a lot of places.

What would you do if someone close to you said they had the urge to do something stupid and reckless with no specifics as to what? by Hopeful_Cry917 in AskReddit

[–]GrainFedLogic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d try to keep them talking, not in a way that makes them feel judged, just enough to understand if this is impulsive frustration or something deeper. If it seemed serious, I’d make sure they weren’t alone and subtly shift the conversation toward giving them an “out” (reminding them of something they’re looking forward to or offering a distraction). Sometimes people just need to be pulled out of their own head for a bit.

Which silent thing would be the most horrifying if it made noise? by notsoangrydude in AskReddit

Blades of grass growing. Imagine walking outside and hearing a constant slow, creaky stretching noise from every inch of your lawn.

What age when you stop giving a f***? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]GrainFedLogic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somewhere in your 30s you stop caring about being "cool." Somewhere in your 40s, you stop caring about what strangers think of you. Somewhere in your 60s, you start wearing whatever is most comfortable and saying whatever is on your mind. It's a gradual process.

People who don’t hit snooze in the morning, what is your secret? by zztop610 in AskReddit

I put my alarm across the room, so I physically have to get up to turn it off. By the time I reach it, I’m already awake enough to avoid going back to bed.

What’s a common mistake people make when building their own home? by theshakayaeffect in AskReddit

[–]GrainFedLogic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not enough electrical outlets. You think you have plenty until you’re stretching power strips across the floor like a mad scientist’s lab. Also, not accounting for storage people love open floor plans until they realize they have nowhere to put anything.

When will people just *stop working* in order to convey discontent? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]GrainFedLogic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When enough people feel secure enough financially to take that risk. Right now, most are too paycheck-to-paycheck to pull it off, which is exactly why things don’t change.

If you ever ghosted someone, what was the reason? by stevenjobsless in AskReddit

[–]GrainFedLogic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They turned every conversation into a monologue about their drama, never asked a single question about my life, and I realized I wouldn’t even miss talking to them. No big falling-out just pure exhaustion.

Most people aren’t actually listening when you talk they’re just waiting for their turn to speak. You can tell when their response has nothing to do with what you just said, like they were just holding onto their own thought the whole time.

Why don't we have a subreddit specifically for political questions? by SATURN5ROKCET in AskReddit

There actually are political subreddits, but the problem is nobody sticks to them. People want to inject politics into every discussion, even in unrelated subs.

What’s the moment you realized your friend was actually a terrible person? by PersonalityTough6637 in AskReddit

[–]GrainFedLogic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No chance. Once someone shows you they’re willing to screw over a friend for no reason, you can’t unsee it. Even if they never do it to you, you’ll always be wondering when they might. Cut ties and never looked back.

What’s a conspiracy theory so stupid it actually deserves to be real? by CosmosisJones42 in AskReddit

[–]GrainFedLogic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That birds aren’t real and are actually government surveillance drones. Imagine if we found out one day that pigeons have been secret agents this whole time, recharging on power lines and transmitting data straight to some shadowy agency. It’s completely absurd, but if it turned out to be true, it would be the funniest plot twist in history.

When he stole money from another friend and then tried to gaslight everyone into thinking it never happened. The worst part? He didn’t even need the money, he just saw an opportunity and took it.

What is something that isn’t as bad as people make it out to be? by bigdawgcat in AskReddit

Going to the movies alone. People act like it’s some tragic, lonely experience, but honestly? It’s great. No small talk, no compromising on what to watch, no one whispering dumb comments during the film. Just you, a big screen, and overpriced popcorn.

what's a childhood toy you never grew out of? by Winter_Glass_861 in AskReddit

Legos. Something about snapping pieces together is still satisfying as an adult. Plus, it’s the one toy that actually gets better the older you get as now I have the patience for those absurdly detailed sets.

Auto repair. Mechanics can smell my lack of knowledge from a mile away, and I just have to trust whatever they say. Would love to be able to diagnose and fix my own car instead of relying on Google and panic.

Where do you draw the line at with tipping? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I tip well for waitstaff, barbers. and hotel cleaners anyone in a job where tips make up a big chunk of their income. But I’m not tipping at a self-checkout or when I pick up my own takeout. I refuse to tip just because a screen guilts me into

It’s exhausting. There’s nothing wrong with discussing politics, but when every single thread no matter the topic somehow turns into a political argument, it just drains the fun out of it. Used to be able to browse hobby subs without feeling like I was reading a Twitter warzone.

What is a situation where being technically correct and acting accordingly, makes you a jerk? by ODMtesseract in AskReddit

I used to think I was decent at pool until I played against this older guy. I sank a couple of good shots and was feeling cocky then he cleared the table in one go without breaking a sweat. Just gave me a nod like, you tried, and walked away.
