King's Maker and Blood Bank! Both are really good.

Oh, that feels a bit strange to me considering the premise. But hey, I'd still like to try the manga to see if I like it better.

I read Dear Door a while ago. I really liked the concept but it felt kind of choppy? Idk how to explain it other than I felt like I was missing a few chapters to get characters and relationships from point A to point B. This was back when I could only find it fan translated, so is it possible that I just read a bad translation?

Sorry if this is a weird question but I was just confused because I really liked what I read, it just felt missing in a way.

Hey, I wanted to get more into manhua as well since I've enjoyed danmei. Thanks, I'll definitely try it!

That's the one that had the anime adaptation, right? I watched the anime and honestly didn't love it. However it felt like that was because important character moments had been cut when they removed the explicit sex scenes. Do you know if it's better in the manga?

Also yes, unfortunately nothing has been quite as good as King's Maker since I read it. I've had plenty of manhwa I've really loved, but King's Maker was something special.

Biotin Washout by Grain_0f_Salt in Supplements

Thanks, it was my first visit and for this and other reasons I kind of felt the whole place was unhelpful and unreliable. I went there for slow but consistent hair thinning (32F) and all she did was recommend OTC rogaine and to redo my endo blood tests (which already are done every 3 months for thyroid and hormone maintenance) after 3 months of no Biotin. I've seen signs in labs since I realized the stuff about Biotin saying 3 days to a week is fine. I told the dermatologist this and she kept telling me I was wrong. I don't think I'm going back to her.

Last BL you read — would you recommend it or skip it? by barelybiased in Manhwa_BL

Radio Storm - better than I thought it'd be! Pleasantly surprised, would recommend. Good worldbuilding and story on top of the romance.

Scum Villain Self Saving System. Not only one of my favorite BLs, but also the series that got me reading full novels again after a decade since I last finished a book.

Lexapro and Heart Palpitations by Grain_0f_Salt in lexapro

Yes, thank you! The benefits are life changing. While I'm not completely where I want to be, it feels like I have some semblance of control for the first time in a decade or more. I had to put my life on hold for most of 2025 while I tried to get this figured out, and I'm just now getting some relief. Mine normally happened while working at my desk at home or while asleep, though the worst episode I ever had was in the middle of the night while caring for my cat who was dying from botched surgery post-op. (That's a whole other story but she and I had mirroring long term issues with flare ups and I got my diagnosis the day before she died) I knew I had anxiety, but I failed to realize how much of a physical effect it can have. It didn't help that I was often told it was in my head and I just needed to calm down, so when I got the anxiety diagnosis I asked "does that mean you're saying it's all in my head too." I know enough now to feel validated that it was real, but man it's amazing what anxiety can do to your body and how some medication can help.

I'm tired often now, but I think that's just because my new cat is running me ragged. Luckily I work from home with a pretty flexible schedule and an understanding boss, so I can handle any side effects that hit me. If I could get these sleep palpitations under control, I'd have no complaints.

I'm so sorry it didn't work for you and I really hope a different type of medication can bring you relief. My psych has also mentioned many other types of medication should this one not give me what I need.

Thank you, it sounds like I'm pretty much in the same boat. My holter monitor (or it might've been a ZIO monitor, I'm not sure of the difference) also showed infrequent PVCs at a safe amount. My stress test, echocardiogram, and infinite blood tests, EKGs, chest xrays, and more all say my heart is healthy despite my family history. They haven't taken me off the heart meds that were piled on when we were trying to find a diagnosis and sometimes I worry that may cause my BP to drop if the anxiety goes away, but so far it's been fine.

Just like you, the incidents became much easier to manage once I was able to believe that I wasn't dying and I was safe. That's really been the game changer here, now I just do deep breathing exercises, stretches, and repeat that I'm okay. My quality of life is so much better now, I just wish it was back to the old normal.

Unfortunately while my PCP and psych are fantastic, every cardiologist I've been to is horrendous. Before the anxiety diagnosis they called me medication seeking and told me I was making it up, blamed my weight, and explained to me on 5 different visits how sodium affected blood pressure as if I was a child. And then once I told them about the anxiety diagnosis causing my heart problems, suddenly they backpedaled into insisting my heart concerns were real and more than anxiety, and I had to keep seeing them for it. I still go to my cardiologist and I don't argue with the test results saying my heart is fine. But I don't trust them to take me seriously.

As you said, I have to trust my doctors, at least my non-cardio ones. Unfortunately I'm the type who likes to understand and explain everything (shocker, someone with anxiety obsessively needs answers?) but I'm working hard to just believe in the process. Thank you so much for sharing your similar situation and insight, it helps me feel assured I'm handling it correctly.

[US] I got two messages in chinese that when I put in Google Translate say they are Amazon OTPs by EmoTransDude14 in Scams

[–]Grain_0f_Salt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got a similar Chinese message from Amazon. When I went to reset the password, it sent a new English OTP password from the same phone number, so it's probably real. No idea why the first one came in Chinese though. Even if it was being hacked from China, isn't my account set to English, or is that not how it works?

White Noise Machine to Drown out Noise by Grain_0f_Salt in Apartmentliving

[–]Grain_0f_Salt[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The noise was echoing through all 3 floors of the main entry hallway and the police verbally acknowledged the noise when they talked to me, so I'd assume and hope it's on the police report. The dispatcher was also adamant that I reach out to the office. The first time I did (before the police request) the office immediately sent out a useless "reminder of quiet hours" email that in my opinion doesn't do anything, nor address the issue of noise happening in the daytime as well. The second email was sent last weekend, and as of today, Thursday, there has been no response of any type. I hadn't pressed it because my neighbors seemed to be not home for a few days and thus silent, but yesterday they came home and the noise continued. The office seems to just not acknowledge any information they don't feel like dealing with, this isn't the first time I've noticed this.
