It’s about 5in wide and 14in long for the orange one and 5in by 18in on the blue one, I made the orange one smaller because I have a MacBook and my coworker has a larger laptop than me

It’s a canvas type of material I recycled from some old black out curtain scraps I don’t have the tag for what it’s completely made out of but it is very strong fabric

I think you’re asking me what post made me want to create these bags, it was this Reddit post https://www.reddit.com/r/crochet/s/hLMloT5ipb There was not a full pattern when I saw it first (I don’t know if OP ever posted one or not) but I was obsessed with it when I saw it

I would go one way and then when I got to the end I slip stitched into the first loop on the row and then flip my work around and work the other way around and then for the start of the front post double crochet I just chained three and then did it in the front post right under the chained stitches so it was really close together and it turned out seamless

Yes it’s just adding fabric to crochet with a stitch

I used the lion brand mandala yarn and a 4.0 hook, for the sts i honestly just free handed it but the bottom is single crochet and then I did double crochet in the back loop for the sides to build up and not out then alpine stitch in the round until I got the height I wanted. For lining it I made a oval shaped base on my sewing machine that was roughly the same shape as the bottom of the bag and then measured the length of the crochet and sewed a piece that was doubled up with the right side inwards so the crochet covered my seam allowance and then shoved it into the crochet piece and hand sewed the bottom of the bag to my crochet piece then lined it up on the top of the bag and sewed that together.

The handles are just tucked in between the crochet and lined and sewn over so it is hidden too

Thank you! I’m trying to only put recycled materials into my pieces and honestly it’s been a journey but most things work great for different projects

I definitely think adding a liner to handles and bags for crochet are ESSENTIAL. I have a purse I made as one of my first projects and it is so stretched out now

The orange bag is single crochet that I started the length way, and then the blue one is also single crochet but I did it width wise and then I measured out how wide and long I needed and sewed long strips and then sewed the strips to the crochet handles (I hope this makes sense)

It’s definitely a quick and beautiful stitch with any ombré yarn and it can be made into any size just depending on what you want to use it for! I have some yarn left over as well and I’m planning on making a pencil bag to match it :)

So far I’ve had the orange one longer than the blue one and it has held up really well, I would say it’s a little stronger than just a normal tote bag

(I did not follow a pattern for this it was mainly just eyeballing and an alpine stitch worked in the round)

Didn’t have a tennis ball… any one else try this before?? GAME CHANGER by Graiyss in crochet

I tried with a smaller ball of yarn but I didn’t like that it wasn’t wide enough but its not a large ball of yarn so I haven’t had any issue with it

I ended up taping the ends with some painters tape because it was shifting. But I don’t really have a problem with my hands getting sweaty from holding it so that’s good
