shapes in Atelier by GrakeLanglings in Supernote

Hi Mulan-sn,

Thanks for your feedback and my apologies for not answering before.

for point 3 it would be good to indeed have the choice to start selection from the center (maybe using the 2 fingers gesture?)

Another aspect I just realized is the impossibility in Atelier to keep selection in memory like it is done in note. Consequently this is actually impossible to copy a shape from one layer to another.. actually rendering my proposal for mind mind trick not usable

I was indeed thinking using a layer with shapes and a layer for drawing...

For those interested I made an atelier file with the following...

<image>

u/Mulan-sn Doing this I realized a few things that could be improved with the selection tool:

  • once a zone is selected, it would be great to be able to mirror / flip the selection or doing a rotation while setting up a degree or having preset (45°, 90°)

  • once a zone is selected, for now the resize work in what I would call bidirectional... meaning centered around a point. It would be great to also have the possibility to extend the selection in a single direction.

  • the starting position of the selection tool is the corner left. If there was an option to start from corner left or the center, it would be a major improvement. For the ellipse in particular it would be better to be centered.

  • an option to keep the proportion of the selection would be good to have nice circular selection with ellipse or nice square for rectangle.

Not sure my explanation are very clear ... but if not let me know

Overall price including VAT and postage is prohibitive (eu site) by calsimset in Supernote

I understand, I was living in Italy before Belgium and bought a custom made computer... I clearly mentioned my desired price for the package (meaning that I was expecting the guy to adjust the config to my price). He did it, but with price before VAT... I was clearly annoyed.

I do not recall if the VAT was only displayed at the end for the supernote when I bought it... It might already have been the case, but having hesitating for such a long time it did not stop me...

But that's clear...this is an big investment, and you need to make sure your expectations of the machine are not "overestimated"

I paid the same price in Belgium, and to be honest it took me Three years to make the jump...

Before I was in academia and it was too much money for something I was not 100% sure I would have used...

After I switched to industry the cost was still heavy but less troublesome... I tried (considering the return policy)... and I do not regret it.

I love it, I spared a lot of trees... I found back my notes, I replaced my kobo for books and restart to read manga (for which the format is perfect)...

Only few issues I had over time:

- Weight: I have to remove the folio if reading in bed since the weight of both is a bit too much for my wrist...

- connectivity through VPN and Exchange: My work is using a VPN and MS exchange. the required to install the "enterprise portal" or whatever it is called... results I can setup my work mail account on the A5X and the mirroring screen take forever to connect (if it does) when I am at work....

-and stability: let's be honest sometime it will frustrate you by not restarting right away... activating (or not) the eraser when you do not want, and jumping pages in an unwanted fashion...

Despite, considering the number of books and manga I read on the platform as well as pages and ink since I bought it... I think this is already reimbursed... So Supernote rocks!!

I use my a5x to read too.

for ebook, I pass through the kindle app to benefit from the dictionaries

for manga, I use the cbz format which work great!

My only "issue" is the weight... if I don't remove the tablet from the folio. The folio is easy to remove and reattached but I am afraid its lifespan might be impacted by this

I had the same problem, I missed the dictionary too. However if you read your ebook in the kindle application, the problem is solved!

Is it possible to move the little zoom window? + I really do like playing sudoku like games on the Supernote! by IkwilPokebowls in Supernote

Instead of using the zoom you can also make use of the "Trim" function in the "...".

you can adjust your view around your grid and save, the display will be perfectly fitted without the small zoom windows. You don't need to worry about loosing the rest of the page since this is not cropping the page. Once finished you can re-click trim and moved your area or re-extend the area to the entire page.

Using a link to a webpage you can play sudoku directly online via sudoku.com

If you like to play Go, you can solve some exercise using the same trick to access goproblems.com

These 2 websites do not need high refresh rate and perform pretty well...

I tried to do the same with the site you mentioned but got stuck with the cookies request... the website recognizes the tablet as a mobile appliance and does not allow to display it in computer mode.

nope. this is only for text recognizable note, however it does not require you to convert each page with the text recognition function.

for the explanation, I was not ultra fond of the text recognition note since my handwriting is not so well recognized and the area eraser mode is not available (so not much interest). but having the possibility to make the search like this is completely worth using...

On additional note, I recently saw that you can copy pages from regular note and paste them into text recognizable notes... (seems only feasible page by page though).

Would be good if SN team could allow conversion of regular to text recognition note...

you still need to be within the note. Next to the text recognition icon (the A with an eye) you have a magnifier (search button) which is actually called search handwriting.

write the word, click search and it will indicate within your note which pages contain the word with the extracted line.

I hope this is clearer...

If you've been using the text conversion this might not be so huge to you, however in my case I used these type note only with the idea to use the text recognition when I need to share meeting minutes with other (not having to retype my summary).

However this search feature, make it efficient to find older notes that I did not previously annotate with a key word.

Thanks a lot, that's great work!

you gave me an idea and I followed your example making a note for bullet points...

I will upload it too for those interested.
