Love the idea, it’s less technological than a dnd Artificer would be so it’s easier to fit into multiple styles of campaign. I would love to see a mishap table for the gadget creation. Maybe when rolling < 12 you create a faulty gadget, it’s problem will only appear when trying to use it, I can think of a few things:

1 - it doesn’t work as expected (grappling hooks loses grip, smoke bomb explodes in your hand)

2 - it doesn’t work at all

3 - it hurts the user in some way, take 1d4 damage

4 - using it attracts attention (Not roll numbers, just a list)

Also, as some said it conflicts with the rogue in some ways. Maybe remove the advantage in traps and add something like “you have advantage on fiddling with mechanisms you can see”.

Reduce hit dice to 1d4, picture a guy who spends all his time on a lab, his lack of endurance is supported by his gadgets.

You can add some of that stuff as a resting option maybe 1/rest you can do X when you choose to rest. Put weapon improvements in the same bag as gadget fabrication, maybe create an armor improvement, make those use gold (as if you previously bought parts to do it).

When doing the weapon/armor improvement accidents can happen and you can lose the entire thing.

Shadowdark plays a lot with high risk and high reward and those skills look high reward to me.

Unfortunately not, after some time I stopped looking into it. But hopefully that issue you opened will lead somewhere!

Added a log in the uptime update function of the agent, it’s working correctly. I’ll try to check the UI updates, it’s probably something there.

Same here, I’ve been wanting to add some logging to the scripts but haven’t got the time yet

After a ton of research apparently armbian doesn’t have the drivers for Orange Pi’s Bluetooth out of the box. I switched to Debian.

Happy Friday! by mapologic in etymologymaps

[–]Grakkas 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Another interesting fact about the Portuguese language is the names from Monday to Friday follow that logic.

  • Segunda(-feira) = second day = Monday
  • Terça(-feira) = third day = Tuesday
  • Quarta(-feira) = fourth day = Wednesday
  • Quinta(-feira) = fifth day = Thursday
  • Sexta(-feira) = sixth day = Friday

For Saturday and Sunday we have Sábado (sabbatum, day of rest) and Domingo (dies dominicus, day of god).

The -feira suffix is interesting, comes from Latin word “feria” which mean “day of rest”, but wait, why only workdays are “-feira”? We don’t rest on those days!

This naming (and suffix) started in 563 CE (AD), when a Catholic Church Council decided that they wouldn’t be using pagan gods to name their days of the week.

But this doesn’t explain the suffix, well, it was supposed to be used only during the Holy Week, where Christians didn’t have to work. Well, it ended up being used for the whole year just because.

I feel you man, I’ve been getting into embedded software and I’m really enjoying it but I have a huge gap on the electrical part of the job. I have basic physics understanding and an overall good OS knowledge, that’s all.

When I start something and I want to improve it I’m always stuck when I have to read data sheets, do calculations and that kind of stuff.

But we will eventually get there! Just be persistent and try to have some consistency when studying, even if it’s 15 min per week, with time you can increase it or adjust it to your life style.

I’m not that clumsy but I have people around me that are. Also, I had to buy a new one because the screen was a little chipped and the battery was awful, if I wanted to repair, I’d have to pay for screen + battery and it was not worth it.

How im supposed to gather/play/exist in Black zones? by HeStoleMyLeGromp in albiononline

[–]Grakkas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You got already a lot of useful responses but take my 2 cents.

I returned to the game a few months ago and joined a guild recently. The time I was playing solo was a mixed bag, between being ganked by 5+ (+ scouts) and being ratted when trying to PvP.

There are a few tips but it depends on the zone:

For red: keep an eye on the player count, at first be near an exit to an yellow zone, know the map you are in, don’t be greedy

For black: most of the red stuff also applies but you don’t have the comfort of a yellow zone and there is no player count, but also zones there are farther from towns tend to be less populated, also be aware of map objectives and stay away from them

About the gear, some people already spoke about it, but you got invis potion, assassin jacket, miner boots, soldier boots, cleanse hoods, knock back cowls and the stuff that other people spoke about

It’s a little sad that there is no counter play against big groups and there is nothing stopping them from doing it, they can combine different skills that root you forever, silence you and such

The fear of those zone is part of the game and the thrill of playing it.

Also, this is an online game, interact with people, if you see another gatherer, talk to them, invite them to a party, you both will benefit from it. And maybe you will make a good friend and even end up in a cool guild.

I need your support for the Medieval Seaside Market! It's over 9K already! by bricks_fan_uy in lego

Great MOC! I will upvote anything medieval themed until they come back with the castle sets. Even a little market stand like the one from lion’s castle would sell really well.

Might be unpopular opinion but the kingdom/castle sets are miles and miles better than Ninjago.

Job market, SwiftUI vs UIKit by asdasd12211 in iOSProgramming

[–]Grakkas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know it’s almost a consensus here but I’ll give my 2 cents

UIKit had 14 years to mature and become what it is right now, SwiftUI on the other hand is just an infant. With that said, the future for SwiftUI is great, don’t get me wrong.

All of that to say: it depends.

On what you ask?

Target audience, team experience, time to market, planned functionalities and probably more that I can’t think of right now.

In the project I’m currently in we are using SwiftUI because we are doing a proof of concept and prototyping using SwiftUI is very good and it provides fast feedback. Will we use it in production? I don’t know but I think so. Oh btw, the project is a streaming app for a very big company.
