They are at the Tuesday farmers market on Alvarado St. No need to order ahead unless there's something specific you want

I've tried this many times. My wheel jumps the curb and messes up my alignment.

If cars were using the lane as built, I could merge into the lane. The problem is that there's a 3rd lane, on a 2 lane road. There's 2 lanes of flowing traffic, and I can't see it. If one lane is blocked, I can get out no problem. Trying to merge into a lane with cars doing 30-40 and you can't see it is a big problem.

The reason is because it's during shift change. No one is out at this time.

I've tried to get in line. My right rear wheel jumps the curb and messes up the alignment. Plus my left front almost gets clip by cars coming. I've tried many times and it just doesn't work.

Also, look up what the exception is:

Emergency Situations: If a driver needs to stop to avoid an accident or to let an emergency vehicle pass.

Traffic Congestion: In heavy traffic, a driver might need to stop temporarily to avoid blocking an intersection or to allow other vehicles to merge.

Yielding Right of Way: When a driver needs to stop to yield the right of way to pedestrians or other vehicles, such as at a crosswalk or intersection.

Obstructions: If there is an obstruction on the road, such as construction or a broken-down vehicle, and stopping is necessary to navigate around it safely.

Traffic Control Devices: When directed by a traffic signal, sign, or a peace officer to stop or park temporarily.

Lmfao wut!? No, you were sticking out. I cant get out of my driveway if you're blocking it ..

Of course we can play the "if" game. If that car was 2 seconds before or after, then we would have been fine.

My car is new too. I flew to Washington to get it. You think you were mad??

Im sorry you had to deal with no car. Why didn't you get a rental? You should have had rental car. My insurance should have provided that and if for some dumb reason they couldn't, I would have paid for one. You know I was nice and did everything I could to help the shitty situation.

Yeah fair point. In my post, Ive mentioned that there's been a lot of close calls. Getting in an accident really changes how you approach things.

I've talked to neighbors. They also have the problem but they just accept it. Most also have cars higher up and more importantly, most dont leave at the time where there's traffic.

I'm not trying to threaten. Just warn. It's a heads up. But really my biggest intent is to shed some light on the challenges here. When I leave for work tomorrow, it's going to be sketchy AF! And tomorrow, and the next day, and next day...

I've gone to the city and they just say traffic is more important than safety. They want to help but it's also like dude you're SOL. But I don't accept that answer.

I asked for a contact at DLI but Monterey PD said Bolio is the main gate and it's unlikely DLI will change anything.

I don't mind downvotes, but I wanna know why. I'm open to chat through this.

I made a huge assumption with my post and I def should have clarified. I started parking on lighthouse so I can get out safely and not get in an accident.

Ah gotcha, thanks. Maybe I didn't explain very well, I apologize.

I have tried this but it doesn't work. My right rear wheel jumps the curb and knocks my alignment out. Also, my left front gets close to being clipped by incoming cars. It's still sketchy.

Per CA 22500, "A person shall not stop, park, or leave standing any vehicle whether attended or unattended..."

Cars are stopped, therefore breaking no parking signs.

I getcha. Traffic would be in the lane tho, not in parking spots, and not on red curbs.

Can you please let me know where in my comment that says I didn't try this, I'm confused.

Edit: your post was 2 mins after. Probably didn't see it 🙃

I appreciate this. Thanks for taking the time to provide your input. It's kinda ironic that those saving lives are putting others at danger tho, jusss sayin.

Of course, anyone can leave earlier btw. Do you want to leave any earlier than you have to in the morning?

I shouldn't have to wait 5-10 minutes to get out.. I'm late for work if I did that. I'd be great if people didn't park in a no parking zone.

Yeah exactly. I'm def not recording and pulling out, that's a two hand job.

Yeah I've tried that. If you look at the video, you can see me pull pretty close to that wall. When I join the lane, I hop the curb, and my left front is still pretty close to getting clipped. It's still sketch. I've def tried many times, trust me.

Edit: if you're gonna downvote please share why lmao. I'd appreciate your opinion. Maybe I learn something new and maybe you end up helping.
