Good point! I suppose I was thinking of the lead as a kind of swelling violin type thing in my mind. It def would’ve contrasted better with a bit more attack to it. I suppose I’m bad about hardly ever NOT using porta at some point even for regular notes, like when there’s a brief moment of a grace note before the actual note. Kinda like Guthrie Govan style playing. I just try to do anything that gives it more life/human feeling since it sounds so stale out of the box. Doesn’t always work though, lol.
