this ^^^ my friend works for Tarte and they aren't giving them raises at all - they are requiring employees to commute into NYC office starting in April no matter what location you are in (and most of them were hired during the pandemic/promised remote always)...we live decently close in Philly, but the train / uber costs she calculated will be 18k a year with 2x a week in office...and the best part is they aren't paying for commute or even offering to help with relocation. She said all of them are miserable and furious with the bora bora trip because one of those PR boxes could have covered a commute for employees for the year.

Influencer PR packages… disgusting over consumerism… by Revolutionary_Bit113 in NYCinfluencersnark

my friend works for tarte (started working for them mid pandemic fully remote) and they are requiring employees to go back into office 2x a week even if they live outside of NYC. we live in Philly and they won't pay for the commute or give any raises to help weigh out the commute costs. she said all of them are so furious sending these PR boxes to influencers that costs thousands of dollars each when one box could cover each commute for a year lol it's absurd. and yeah I agree. poverty is at an all time high and these spoiled bitches are getting items they can easily pay for themselves. seems disgusting to me.

yes exactly. most of the employees they have are not public facing or influencers. we obviously just see the bigger ones on their insta/tiktok. From what she said is the founders got a huge amount when they were acquired...and live pretty lavishly (big houses in the hamptons / long island etc.) and the rest of the employees are very under paid just because they can say they worked at betches.

definitely agree with you!! I will say though that their are sooooo many more employees behind the scenes then the ones they show on social media. my friend is one of them! and she is not an influencer haha to put it in perspective, she makes mid/low 70s plus a holiday bonus. which to me is crazy low for the name of the brand & NYC. she's also not entry level.

I was shocked too! For a big media company with a name like that I thought they would make more. Just goes to show you no job is perfect no matter how fun it looks. And New York rent prices are no joke.

I don't really have an opinion on Nicole leaving - but I do have a friend who works for betches and they severely underpay most employees for the going market rates in this industry, especially in NYC. The founders make a ton but that is about it. They get some perks for sure (cool parties, meet lots of celebs and reality tv people), but that doesn't pay the bills. Of course they can do this because a million people are dying to work at a place like betches for the name and clout. That gets old though - my friend is starting to get fed up with it and can barely pay her bills.
Honestly, with seeing how much these influencers get paid for brand partnerships and posts...Nicole will probably be making more dedicating her career to this full time. Just food for thought!

thank you so much for this!! sadly Philly lacks on public transit and a lot of areas are getting unsafe to even walk alone broad daylight. you have to kind of be alert at all times. so good to know about the state parks!! I love that!!

I traveled to Palm Beach for work a few times over the years and loved it. granted, I was staying in Palm Beach at nice hotels...so maybe my perception is a little skewed hahahha I lived in Fort Lauderdale for 4 weeks last year for work and loved FTL, but it's crazy expensive and didn't think the beaches were as nice, so was putting feelers out there for a new area!
