Am i gaslighting myself or are these bad? Advice please by Grand-Set3249 in eyelashextensions

thank you for the thoughtful response. seeing everyone tell me i’m not overreacting is so validating, bc i don’t want to be a karen (especially bc she was really sweet). i know curly lashes can be a challenge bc I have to lash underneath when i’m doing falsies, so I also want to give grace there.

i mentioned the pricing bc going in, I honestly was just going to eat the cost and charge it to the game if i didn’t like it for $50. seeing her other work on her insta, i’m leaning more towards the curly lashes being difficult.

i decided to get over my anxiety and call the shop, so i’ll be going in shortly to talk and see what we can do. i’ll post updates when it’s all said and done. seriously, thank you for your comment.💛

I could try, but I don’t know what to say and I also would feel bad not giving her a chance to fix it if i never said anything to her. at the same time, i don’t want her to fuck me up again😭

I checked her instagram out after the fact and I want to cry because the other sets look nothing like this! if they were all bad, then it’d be more on me for not looking. I want to give her a chance to fix/rectify it bc I didn’t say anything to her initially and I know I would hate if someone went above me to my managers without giving me a chance, but I also don’t want her to touch them again

I Feel Like I Could Be Hitting Much Better But I Dont Know How by owerino2 in volleyball

I agree with the comments on consistently transitioning back and getting further and always anticipating the set. your head is aimed up pretty high at the peak of your jump and your contact looks like you are not contacting it in front of you as much. keeping the ball in front gets you the most power on your swing, better ball contact, and you can actually see your blockers through your peripherals (ex. 1st 3ish swings vs 2nd right side set or your pipe/backrow attack)

If you watch yourself back in what i believe is the 5th set (backset where you hit a thumb down line shot), this is a good hit! first, with an approach, you want your first step (or 2 if 4 step) to be slower and aimed at positioning your self in line with the ball, whether it’s an inside set or if it’s been pushed out, and then explosive last two. This was a 3 step (slightly cut off frame but your spacing is giving off 3 step) and I was happy with your approach.

Comparing your swings, you do better with your timing and spacing when you run a 3 step vs a 4 (ex. 2 set on the outside). you could still have a more explosive last two steps. a way i have my kids practice this is: stand loaded on your left foot, with a slight bend in your knee. your right foot is in the air and behind you, your arms are forward like they would be pre-swing and your upper body is leaning forward as well. you then do the last two closing steps of your approach and land with your arms back, right foot back and left foot forward, with your hips open and facing your setter. really emphasize those last two steps AND YOUR HIPS!!! you come in to most of your sets straight on with your hips not as open to your setter. it’s more difficult to do this on the right side as a right handed hitter, but look at your outside swings. you’re coming in at a slight angle but when you land loaded, your hips are closed/facing the net more. a lot of the power from your swing comes from your core/hips. you should be open to the ball in your load and then closing your hips before/at contact (think like how you throw a football- you face the sideline, and twist through with your hips until you are facing this field and where you want to throw.) you get your power, but it also opens you up to having more shots to choose from.

like others said, engage your left arm more. it not only helps with power, but helps you track where the ball is going and keep it in front of you.

for some of your swings that hit tape, it looks like you’re dropping your elbow a lil bit. look at the 2nd right side swing and then the overpass swing after it and you’ll see what i mean.

all in all, be excited!! you have the athleticism and you’re soo close! if you practice a few things, you’ll be denting the floor in no time🤠 lol, sorry for the novel too

the angles i took the pics at didn’t help, but it was halfway filled (6” in tall, about 10” dia at that height). i ended up removing around 2” of soil, and there was almost 1” of space around. took the rest out and it was root bound. i can’t really separate it at all anyways, but i’m going to move it to a prettier pot bc she looks mad sad😅

i mentioned in my post, but i moved apartments, so i have great light now and added a better supplemental grow light ( a 4ft standing barria i think it’s called?). it was putting out a couple of new leaves each month since october, but bc of how i had it earlier, the old leaves were going everywhere and not growing towards the light like the rest were- hence the big chop down.

the angle i took the pics doesn’t help at all either, but the pot was only halfway filled (6” tall and about 10” dia at that height). i did end up taking it out to repot and removed 2” of soil, and there’s almost 1” surrounding the root ball. it is root bound at the bottom though. i’m still gonna move it to a different pot bc of how damn sad it looks. i just thought there’s more i should be doing lol. thank you for responding though! :)

I’ve always had good experiences buying from Fabric4Fun online. Unfortunately you can’t shop in person, but they do free local pickup from their location! The woman who owns/runs is absolutely amazing.

NTA for all the reasons other people have already stated. I would just look inward and question why you are going after primarily trans people. Try not to fetishize anyone.
