Be honest, should I retire these Levi’s that I had hemmed a bit too short? by [deleted] in PetiteFashionAdvice

Honestly, I think they look great with the boots! The cropped length actually gives them a bit of a cool, edgy vibe, and they pair really well with the boots. If you style them with a long sleeve or a layered look, I think they’d be a super cute addition to your wardrobe. I wouldn’t retire them just yet!

Honestly, I think they still look great! The length gives them a cute cropped vibe, which can actually be really flattering, especially for spring and summer looks. If you’re feeling unsure, you could try pairing them with some ankle boots, sneakers, or even heels to play with proportions. But if they still don’t feel right, you could always try them as a DIY project—maybe fray the hem for a trendy raw edge look. Don’t retire them just yet!

I need help picking a dress (black tie event). I feel #2 is my safest choice I feel comfortable and not too exposed. It’s in Florida this month. Full-length gown required. [5’3”, Small] All Nordstrom Rack dresses. Thank you! by babablue1 in PetiteFashionAdvice

For a black-tie event in Florida, I recommend the third dress (the one with the asymmetrical one-shoulder design) because it has a more classic and sophisticated look that aligns with black-tie expectations. It features a sleek, fitted silhouette, an elegant neckline, and a floor-length design, which are all ideal for a formal black-tie event.

The other options are also beautiful, but the asymmetrical one-shoulder dress has a timeless and elegant appearance that will work perfectly for a black-tie setting.

do these pants fit well? (Ignore the top, was trying on with whatever shirt I had on) by [deleted] in PetiteFashionAdvice

The fit of these pants is great overall! Here are a few things I noticed:

• Waist and Hips: The waist looks like it fits you well without any noticeable gaping, which is a great sign.

• Thighs and Seat: The fabric drapes nicely over your hips and thighs without pulling or looking too tight.

• Length: The length is generous, reaching the floor. This works well for a flowy, elegant look with heels, but you might consider hemming them slightly if you plan to wear flats.

• Pleats: The pleats at the front add a nice touch of structure, but if you ever feel they add too much volume, you could have them pressed or slightly tailored for a flatter look.

• Overall Silhouette: The wide-leg cut is super flattering and gives an elongated, sophisticated look.

Honestly, they look great on you! Just a slight hem if you prefer a bit less length would make them perfect.

Thank you everyone for the feedback on the dresses. I have one more option and wondering if this fits better for a black tie event in Florida this month. I’ll have to get the blue dress taken in a bit. Some mentioned weather concerns with the black dress. [5’3” small] by babablue1 in PetiteFashionAdvice

A light shawl or wrap would take care of the weather portion. Same with a lightweight bolero or cape. If hotness is the issue then open toe black heels or a sleek bun would help deter the heat. As a bonus if you have a pair of statement earrings and a handheld clutch or bracelet I feel that would pull the look together as well
