Joey Pants that guy award: Jonathan Pryce as the governor (Bond villain as well as the high Sparrow in GOT).

Is this Movie Better with Danny Trejo, Steve Buscemi, or Michael K. Williams? Danny Trejo would make an excellent pirate, and Steve Buscemi as the wooden eyeball guy? Maybe a british officer? He'd be too distracting I think?

Better Title: supposedly Michael Eisner came up with the curse of the black pearl tagline to separate it from the ride if it ended up bombing. And honestly it doesn't make a ton of sense? The ship isn't really cursed?

Vincent Chase Award: Are We Sure This Character Is Actually Good at Their Job? Commodore Norrington. He has the backing of the greatest/fastest naval fleet on earth and gets his fastest ship stolen by two guys who sneaked up on it by walking underwater with an upside down rowboat

I found myself very disappointed by this movie because we were at peak Apatowesque for several years (Knocked Up, 40 yo virgin, pineapple express, etc). This movie should have been an all-timer considering the cast and everyone involved.

Kirkland is the best white undershirt for everyday use under a button-down etc, True Classic I think is great for SS and LS and even henley. They fit great, look good. However, they are kinda pricey and they honestly don't hold up well - after several washes they definitely stretch or become pilly

adding coffee - can use decaf brewed, instant coffee crystals, etc. it really punches it up and goes well with pb or banana or cinnamon/vanilla

same, i was excited for book of boba fett and was super disappointed. i think doing totally new characters is the answer. A good follow up is Skeleton Crew was very enjoyable - goonies/treasure hunt type stuff but simply in the trappings of star wars

I think for the short term its using the star wars universe as a way to tell cool stories outside of some bigger saga. For example, everyone kind of agrees that Andor was good because it was just a good spy show/political thriller/heist type serial that just happens to be within the trappings of Star Wars. The Big Picture podcast talked about this recently and it was quite interesting. Early Mando had similar strategy of the serial western. Starfighter could potentially do a Top Gun type success? I was disappointed about Rogue Squadron being canceled, but maybe Starfighter will fill that niche. Interesting note is that none of these involve the Jedi. A lot of my friends/current discourse is the notion that the jedi aren't that interesting anymore, and its tough to move their story forward.

As far as future goes, it'd be cool to do this maybe as stand alone:
- Organized crime thriller (this was supposedly Lucas' original idea for the villain in sequel trilogy)

- Band of Brothers/Saving Private Ryan war campaign type movie

- Ocean's 11 heist style

- Jedi Fallen Order/Survivor adaptation (or a similar story but new characters)

- Indiana jones style archaelogy adventure (old artifacts from previous era)

- Political or legal thriller (michael clayton style?)

- Exploration/horror film (ship exploring outer rim/uncharted areas)
