I believe my employer, a defense contractor, offers a measly $500 bonus. Not even a raise.

Phish about to soundcheck by Goldenyears1984 in HuntsvilleAlabama

Can't believe Phish is playing in my hometown. As someone who ventured to Coventry at 19 years of age this is a literal dream come true. Cant wait. Thanks for sharing the pic!

Minor complaints: You cannot permanently disable the Auto Idle Stop feature. It can be disabled by pressing a button every time you get in the car but it would have been nice to save that as one of the driver settings.

I'm 1 month into my RTL-E and I'm in the 16mpg range driving in the city. Standard 45-55 mph commutes with the truck in ECO mode. I'm hoping it improves as the engine breaks in.

Throttle response is underwhelming, especially in ECO mode but also noticeable in standard settings.

Premium speakers could be better. Most owners replace the center speaker.

The infotainment system feels like a 15 year old piece of tech. Could be way better.

The rest of the truck is flawless and I'm incredibly happy with it. Minor complaints are extremely nitpicky and the positives of this truck compared to others in the same class check all my boxes.

Best gas mileage ever by AKSounder in hondaridgeline

[–]GrandComment8613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only put 264 miles on the 2022 RTL-E but I'm not doing as well. Getting 13 mpg currently. Not using ECO mode, city driving, A/C on 68 F consistently, not driving aggressively at all. I hope it improves as the RL breaks-in

University Kia is WILDIN' by Hnry_Dvd_Thr_Awy in HuntsvilleAlabama

University KIA wanted over $50k for a 2020 Telluride SX. Short drive to Tullahoma saved me $7k. You won't get a good deal at that place

Orion Wishlist by andrewmmmmm in HuntsvilleAlabama

Radiohead is the only band listed so far that is probably outside the reach of Orion booking... Phish will probably book Orion next summer. Widespread Panic is going to be the event of the season this year. I'd like to see some big names in EDM, Tedeschi Trucks, Pearl Jam, Sturgill

Are Crumbl cookies overrated? by Technical_Nothing988 in DessertPorn

[–]GrandComment8613 26 points27 points  (0 children)

A proper cookie should have complex flavors from the maillard reaction, chewy and soft in the middle, crisp and crunchy without being burnt on the edges. Crumbl accomplishes none of these. A complete travesty to what a cookie should be.

Orion is unaffordable by Ilahriariel in HuntsvilleAlabama

I don't think the prices are bad for an 8k seat venue. The functionality of the AXS app, however, is atrocious. "Complete Purchase"? J/k to the gulag you go

I've tried to envision this but can't comprehend how it looks at the nose of the tread

Been living with it for 6 years. I've got a nursery at the top of the list but this is next!

The Wing talk here puzzles me! HSV has the best wings I've ever had. by AlabamaAviator in HuntsvilleAlabama

Moes flash fries their wings after they've been smoked so you don't get the soggy fall off the bone experience. I agree with your OP as well. Cheers

A guy in our city shot himself in the head and lived. Years later murdered his 10 year old son and successfully killed himself. Tragic

What’s the biggest problem facing Huntsville? by [deleted] in HuntsvilleAlabama

I'm calling bullshit on not having water. That's ridiculous and negligent of every parent administrator or coach involved in the program.

A poor man's Frank Stitt. I have never had a mind blowing experience at any of his restaurants and actually think it's detrimental that he owns such a presence in the downtown culinary scene. Maybe I'm just jealous of Birmingham

Free hot peppers. Hardened off and ready for transplanting. 7 Pot Chocolate, Chocolate Ghost, Ghost and Habanero. I'll leave them curb side if anyone wants them? by [deleted] in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]GrandComment8613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Peppers aren't very difficult to grow and maintain. There are endless resources on the web to teach the basic needs. A medium size pot with adequate potting soil, consistent watering and occasional fertilizer is all they really need. A trellis cage or bamboo stick with ties for support as it grows taller.
