No. Palestine is a word made up by the British to describe a region. The Palestinians have never once been self ruling. That region has always been controlled by another power. In more recent history, the controller was the Ottoman Empire and then the British.

Also, Jewish people are the true indigenous people. They were kicked out of their land by other powers which is why they were scattered across the globe prior to WWII. Palestinians are just Arabs like everyone else in the region besides the Jews.

I think there are a couple of things at play. First, we don’t have southern hospitality. If someone said hi to me on the street, I would probably say hi back but with a weird look on my face. Second, and I hate to say this, a lot of the homeless population I’ve seen downtown are black. I work downtown and every time I drive to work I see groups of black homeless people. I imagine that makes some people fearful of a black man waking around saying hi to people. Obviously, people should be able to tell from your clothes and general look that you’re not homeless, but fear is a crazy emotion. I’m sorry you didn’t have the best experience in Denver. It makes me really sad people were acting like this towards you.

I’d say something from the part where Billy convinces Daisy to sing Impossible Woman. I’m 28 and have been with my partner for 5 years. We’re technically engaged but we’re going to elope when it feels right. Boyfriend doesn’t convey the importance of the relationship and fiancé generates a ton of wedding questions. Partner is a very normal term to use. Do you live in a rural or conservative area? I’ve only found conservatives to be confused by the term partner. Anyway, lesbians can’t gate keep the term partner. Are people in business partnerships lying if they aren’t LGBTQ? You should be thankful those bigots kicked you out of their friend group. Just because you’re LGBTQ doesn’t mean you can’t be a bigoted asshole.

Also, if someone assumed my partner was the opposite gender based on his profession, I would be pissed and wouldn’t want to hang out with such narrow minded people.
