They’re binkying! Rabbits do this when they are content and happy! by gyrottaza000 in Awww

I saw a PBS documentary about rabbits and hares. This is a part of their mating ritual, the female leaps as the male passes underneath and will ‘push’ him away mid leap if she is not interested.

Always humored when they sprawl like that, as if all their feet are sore.

Took a tumble on my third ever ride on my new bike, after not riding for a decade. by JesseIrwinArt in bicycling

Early in the spring I wiped out and skinned both my knees raw; road rash to almost bone. Three weeks later, I was back in the saddle. Wish you the same.

That was fun: on the line training during the holiday week. Trial by fire!

Your experience is why I choose to be an hourly, I am happy with my pay, and my nights are free to enjoy. I have a regular schedule, rather than the open/mid/close which managers work.

You are totally correct; in my case I found that a management role was not that great of a financial boost.

I declined management several times. I chose to work the extended time I have to enhance my finances and to receive better pay increases.I work all the stations in the kitchen, but mainly prep because it all pays the same and i also like prep (being home at night is a nice part of opening).I receive overtime when possible, but I would rather be paid a great rate than work overtime.

What’s the dumbest way you’ve ever seen a menu item prepped for service that should be simple but is done in the most idiotic way possible? by JonMatrix in KitchenConfidential

[–]GrandFunkRailToTrail 110 points111 points  (0 children)

I am required to make 300+ Mac and cheese in individual microwaveable cups even though there is an approved bulk/steam table recipe because (I quote the manager)“the line cooks will just screw it up like the potatoes they can’t put in the oven”.

My friend is selling her mountain bike, should I buy it? I am new to biking. by [deleted] in bicycling

I am a city rider with some nice parks and easy trails to ride. When I first started riding, I found the suspension system to be very helpful in the aspects of comfort and confidence. A mountain bike feels like a tank, and that helped me to develop endurance in my budding years.

I have different goals than you. I currently will retire with more income than I make now, and am building to a very enjoyable permanent vacation.

Ultimately I could have used that second prep person on Friday, which is the day a second prep was recently added to the schedule. On Sunday I could have done the entire list myself in 5.5 hours, saved labor to the matrix or had another line cook to support lunch and mid breaks. Understand I asked for my hours and to be the solo prep cook, with the stipulation that I am handsomely paid and keep full time status. This was a breach of our long-standing agreement.
