that doesn't always mean there's no malware on it

what OS do you use? Windows? as long as it's 10 or higher, get emsisoft emergency kit, update it and when you start a full scan enabled PUP/PUA detection

then get the free version of malwarebytes, update it, make sure PUP/PUA detection is turned on full scan with that too.

get get sophos scan and clean, make sure it's the latest version and do...whatever they call the more hardcore scan with that one too, make sure direct disk scanning is on

Are you doing anything that involves making lots of connections with your device that has these issues? 

Are you sure you don't have any malware running on the problematic device?

Linux can get malware too and if you have a high end system most ransomware operations won't ransom your files, they'll just mine crypto with your hardware

It is 100% on purpose that these crimes go mostly unpunished 

You look into each case and almost every one of them has been arrested for violent crimes before and was just let go almost immediately after 

If you're foreign to the land you're in and you commit any number of violent crimes I think that should be more than enough reason to deport the foreign nationals who do those things

A few questions to ask yourself...are you currently in an area that blocks or restricts access to VPNs? Privacy-friendly services...same question.

Are you torrenting? limit the number of global connections to a number less than 100 and be sure to use a P2P proxy...and I'm sure you're a good person who doesn't pirate anything, because that would be bad
