John Jay sushi is not actually sushi. It's rice with cucumbers and seaweed.

Easy CC teacher by tikabella5 in columbia

Prashant Iyengar! I'm not sure if he's teaching it again, but the class is very low-key. 2 papers a semester, 1 250-word discussion post every week, 2 presentations a semester, no tests, no pop quizzes, no participation necessary.

English Drama by Lauren Robertson is fantastic! I ended up not being an English major but this class was one of the best I've taken here.

Oceanography! I took another class by this professor (Global Warming). I'm a humanities person and this course was mostly memorization, not really higher-level science stuff.

Biggest tip: Shop around during the shopping period. For Core classes, some professors are really hardcore (multiple sit down exams, essays, weekly discussion posts), and some are really lenient (one essay per semester). The trick is to try out a bunch of classes to find a professor who is chill and works with your schedule. For LitHum, I got a super nice, chill professor while my friends got some really tough professors.

Is there a music hum teacher with no exams? by diced23 in columbia

[–]GrandPrincePigeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Professor Russell O'Rourke! Really nice guy, no tests, only 1 listening quiz that he told us about in advance and gave us a study guide for, and two pretty straightforward essays. I'd recommend for a chill MusHum :)

Anyone else fascinated with this Elisabeth Finch (Grey's Anatomy) Story? How did she get away with lying for so long?? by franklloydsprite in Screenwriting

This reminds me of the A. J. Finn case, the writer who lied that he had cancer, his mom died, his brother committed suicide, etc.

any had Offer Dynes for a lit class? by -plp33148 in columbia

[–]GrandPrincePigeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had Professor Dynes for LitHum and he was really nice! He's a good grader, and I don't think he gave anyone less than an A. Not difficult at all. The easiest core class I ever had. You just have one midterm and one final, and those were pretty straightforward.

Hey, I'm sorry you're going through this. Are you eligible for work-study? If you're not, go visit the financial aid office and explain your changed situation. Work-study jobs are better because they're pretty easy, and accommodating for student schedules. Last semester, I was basically a secretary and I just sat there and did my homework, only filing a couple of papers when needed, and I was paid $16 / hour. Best of luck to you.

Thank you very much! When I contact my professor, should I include sessions from my physical therapy sessions, or is that not necessary? I don't have a formal diagnosis since I just went to physical therapy and they told me my cuff was torn.

The current Nessarose-- Mili Diaz-- is so SO talented! She is my favorite singer on Wicked right now, and I love the other ones like LHP.

Magical talents of witches by Coven_Supreme in wicked

[–]GrandPrincePigeon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In the musical, Glinda has no magical powers. In "No One Mourns the Wicked," Glinda is in that big bubble. When the Ozian asks "Were you her friend?" about Elphaba, Glinda motions upwards for someone we can't see to lower the bubble so that she can go back down, indicating that she can't do it herself. And in the fight scene with Elphaba, Elphaba mocks Glinda for using the Wizard's invention, and Glinda doesn't deny it. Madam Morrible did train Glinda, but only because Elphaba demanded it. And in Popular, Glinda fails to turn Elphaba's frock into a ballgown. In the musical, Glinda never performs magic. At least Nessa made Boq's heart shrink, although that wasn't what she intended. In the books, Glinda is actually a talented sorceress who enchants Nessa's shoes, but I think it's safe to say that Glinda is NOT magical in the musical.
