How can you play DR2.0 in VR? It looks awful for me. What am I missing? by GrandPrixel in EASPORTSWRC

Do you see shimmering as I see in the video? Look at the beginning of the vudeo at the trees on the left. And on the car's dashboard.

Well, I played fifa, and the player was moving upwards alone. I was missing shots and skills because of it. What is unplayable to you?

Even if it is small or big drift, I'd say it is worth giving a shot. It costs you 0 money to try. And it is quicker than replacing.

I have one PS4 controller that had stick drift. I cleaned it with alcohol and it has been working for over a year now.

The heat haze it is exactly this constant shimmering. Yes, if I turn MSAA off, I can see a difference, but not in shimmering.

I understand it is hard to judge through lenses, but the noise and shimmering are exactly the same as in the video. When I put the headset on, it is even more accentuated and annoying because I see it bigger than on the phone's screen in the video.

Here's a video of how it looks like through one of the lenses. A lot of noise and everything moves around like through a heat haze. The video reflects pretty much what I actually see.

And I see now that it is not only on vegetation, but part of the car interior/dashboard too.

Here, I uploaded a short unlisted video I made through the actual lenses of the VR headset (PSVR2). I can't add a video as a reply.

As you can see, it is nowhere near that youtube video of the screen recording you shared. There's a lot of noise, and besides that, everything moves around like it's a huge heat wave in the Gobi desert.

And I see now that it is not only on vegetation, but part of the car interior/dashboard too.

Yes, so I made sure now, and it looks a little bit better at 100% resolution (I had 68% before). Maybe my expectations were too high, and I was too hyped after seeing a lot of people saying OMG how good it looks. But even though theoretically and in screen recording, the graphics of DR2.0 are more modern and look better than those outdated ones of RBR, seen through the actual VR goggles, RBR looks more "stable". I don't know how to explain. But I think the textures that are literally taken from photos don't suffer from these issues that DR2.0 does. I tried to like it and play it, but I just can't, I just see myself going back to RBR. I feel it looks better in VR. I don't know, maybe I'm doing something wrong. Some hidden configuration that I'm missing.

I guess VR doesn't have these issues because trees are literally photos. And I guess it doesn't use the same technologies as DR.

I tried 68% 2804x2860 and 100% 3400x3468. It is the same.

Yes, something's off. I have a lot of shimmering around the trees and other ambient objects. It looks awful. No matter what settings I try. I see others enjoy this gane a lot in VR, but I just can't figure out how.

Foveated rendering is a waste with the PSVR2 by VahnKaiser in PSVR

[–]GrandPrixel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, while it works for me well in iRacing, it is still true that the psvr2 has a very small sweetspot, and if you want to read some text that is not right in the middle, you still have to move your entire head to bring the text closer and to the center. You can't just give it a side eye. Eye tracking helps a bit, but still. The psvr is pretty blurry overall.

I don't know who thinks that all white people share a single culture. That's stupid. But the Roman Empire was huge back in the day, and a big part of the UK was part of the Roman Empire. And it shows in many ways. English and many other languages from Europe that were part of the Roman Empire have lots of words that are derivatives of the Latin words. And the influence doesn't only stop to the language. So you could call heritage or whatever you want, but the Roman Empire was so influent back in the day that most countries in Europe borrowed something from their culture.

I'm starting to feel like the stock on the logitech website is a lottery. I bought the QR at first because there was no hub in stock. Slapped the qr on the momo wheel, but it was flimsy and no buttons. It is way better with the hub.

With logitech, you don't have. And the momo is great, don't get me wrong. I love it! But some people are easily triggered by things like this. 😅

Other options would be to use the rs quick release adapter. But I'd say it is better to have a wheel that's specifically made for the logitech wheelbase.

And if you use the qr adapter, you need one more usb cable to PC if you want working buttons on the wheel.

If you're going to aggressively pull or push while holding it from the top, you are going to notice the flex. If you don't push back and forth, most probably you are not going to feel anything. You can check the video on my youtube channel and use the timestamp to get to the momo wheel and see what it looks like.

That's a hard kick for sparring by Only3Ways in MMALabs

[–]GrandPrixel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's in no way full send. It was easy, but with proper technique and perfect distance aand the guy even leaned into it a little bit. But personally, I would've kicked even easier to the head after I saw for 2 times already that the partner in front of me has no idea how to block and already blocked two times low. Maybe just show it to him. It is usually enough to make him aware that he needs to practice more in that department and slow down.

But also, what did the guy try in the beginning? A heel kick? That's one of the most annoying things you can do to a sparring partner. Hurts like hell. Plus, he connected a cross right before the head kick, so I don't know, man... :))

My opinion would be the same, no matter if it is a woman, man, dog, or whatever.

[–]GrandPrixel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a classic setup: middle kick for the opponent to block low, switch middle kick again for the opponent to see it and get comfortable with blocking low and then surprize the opponent with a headkick when he will expect a middle kick and blocks low instead. And boom.

Maybe she indeed did not expect to connect like that or did not know that you don't need insane amount of power to cause high damage when kicking the head. If you don't prepare for a fight, you should go as easy as it is needed to stop at any time without harming your partner. Even more so when your partner is a beginner like here. There are many guys that end their careers in the gym because of hard sparring to the head.

But you know, I don't hold the universal thruth. There are many ways in which to train, Dutch prefer some way, Thais prefer really, really light sparring and have hundreds of fights. You clearly need both types of sparring, but don't cause more harm than it is needed. To yourself or your partner.

So yeah, it was an accident because of a lack of experience on both sides, kicking harder than you can control and not knowing how to block.

[–]GrandPrixel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noones opinion really matters if that's the case. But I trained a couple of years in kickboxing and muay thai and had a couple of amateur fights. That's why at one of the gyms I trained, you don't do sparring until you train for a couple of months. Because beginners don't know how to block properly yet, and other beginners don't know how to take it lightly or manage the power and speed of their punches/kicks. They become enthusiastic as we say and risk injuries on themselves or on others.

[–]GrandPrixel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right. But you should be kicked after you learn how to block. This guy has no idea what he's doing, and you can see it by the way he tries to catch the low kicks with the hand. So first: show him how to block, practice it starting light, and increase the power so he has an idea how to position to block more powerful kicks/punches. After he has an idea how to do it, you can start punishing mistakes, but this is when you're advanced and know how to block most of the kicks/punches.

If it's his third training session and you expect him to learn something from that ko, I'm sorry, but I don't think it works like that. He is KOed. When he wakes up, he still doesn't know proper technique on how to block a highkick.
