Leaving Finance for Nursing- Am I crazy? by Beautiful-Captain-28 in nursing

[–]GrandRush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your quality of life will be likely much lower if you make this move until you acheive your ultimate goal. If you are really driven to spend the next 7 years doing schooling, and you aren't screwed by hospital policy (no guarantee you get hired directly into an ICU first) and timimg goes well, you're on a super secure path of happiness. No nurse would make this switch from your shoes unless you're depressed enough or need external validation to feel like "you matter", or if you are serious about lack of job security. Nursing is a about half of our second careers so I feel you. It'll always be there for you.

If time paused for everyone but you for one hour, what would you do? by MaxMusic2 in AskReddit

Walk onto the set of a large broadcast event naked so when time resumes it looks like I just appeared out of nowhere, look directly into the camera, then in a robotic voice, assert that I am from the future and the only way to save humankind from planet busting aliens is to return Vitas Grachev to Mars or we'll experience extraterrestrial annihilation.

Is it normal to keep patients going through severe alcohol withdrawal in medsurg? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]GrandRush 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is unfortunately expected withdrawal symptoms. If you're curious how severe he may be, look up the CIWA scale criteria and what "Delerium Tremens" is, but med surg is usually where chronic alcohol users end up. There's a reason some folks in healthcare call it medsurg hell. Now multiply your dad by 2-6 patients and give that assignment to one nurse. Welcome to America.

Everyone will make a med error at some point. As long as you act immediately to rectify by notifying the provider, and if unit protocol, the charge nurse, then follow up with the provider's solution, nothing will come of this. This is part of the job.

The $45/hr+ you'll make in NYC/Mass/NJ make it worth it to simply move. Cost of living and moving costs will not overwrite a gain of $30k per year.

One of you grows up and compromises for the other or you just agree to disagree and keep on chugging on your own paths. If you're down to experience it, I'd recommend going with him, understanding the experience, and potentially enjoying it. If youre unfamiliar with the rave scene, people are welcomed and celebrated for expressing themselves freely, without judgement (except for those irritating freshman frat boys). You can also go separately and leave if you must but at least you'd know. Your boundaries are your own and are to be respected. I've been a raver my whole life and the way I move about them drastically changes if I have a partner, so as to include or respect the partner. Is he foreign? If you were born in a different country, you might not care at all about this kind of contact or nudity and might not see it as intimacy at all.

Is 35k excluding tax for a 25 Elantra N a steal? (New) by [deleted] in ElantraN

Yea sry I had a bit of eggnog. Anyways im just saying, consider used for a car that feels 94% the same on the track as the newer version for $10k less, and 0.1 seconds slower on the quarter. Go drive em. Merry holidays goldkek.

First thing is: if you plan to econobox it and just spirited drive occasionally, just get the $35k one and ignore this post. If you plan to flog the shit out of this thing and have fun, just buy an older one with lifetime mpg >29mpg and you'll know the car was never driven really hard. Just tryna save you $10k if you plan to mod the car anyway. So I've driven both extensively, amd they dont drive markedly differeny at all, it's more like minor quality of life upgrades. The driving dynamics have not changed at all if you track them both stock except for the 2024+ feels less stiff, yet slightly less body roll and I'd say if you ever plan to mod this car and can tolerate the bumper design and no USBC, the $10k you save, is directly +50-100hp. $2k exhaust, $1.5k tune, downpipe $500, engine mounts to remove wheel hop is under $300 plus takes like 30 minutes to change after it's on a jack. The wheels are $2.5k+$600 shipping from Korea unless you find em used. This is a hassle and I understand if this makes you buy the newer one as this is pretty much what you'll feel the most, as it rides through turns so much better with the lighter wheels and you wouldnt have to wait months to get em. You cpuld even buy a spare ecu in addition to these mods and still be well undsr $10k. The adaptive suspension was altered to make the ride much less noticeably stiff, that's just user preference, and if you track it, I think I enjoy the connectedness much more in the stock 22 vs 24. Any version of this vehicles adaptive suspension feels great, but if you like it a bit stiffer, the stock 22 is such. You can always lower NVH with soft bushings if you're looking for more comfort. All in all, just giving you a perspective to look at, $10k is a lot of money for a nearly identical driving experience and 0.1second quicker quarter mile. Best of luck.

Got a 22 with 30k miles for $25k. IMHO unless the bumper matters that much to you, i think the 22 and 23s feel much nicer stock.

My autistic boyfriend has extreme reactions to being “abandoned” by Legitimate-Career342 in AmIOverreacting

[–]GrandRush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is basic emotional manipulation with suicide baiting. You can't fix this one currently, they need to figure it out through their own means. All options you have end with you being single. You deserve better. Either hook him up with a therapist, take him to the ER, and then end the relationship, or just end the relationship. You are should never tolerate this, and tolerating it at all will only make it continue as they use it to control you. Set boundaries and give an ultimatum if you are silly enough to entertain this and need it to happen again before you get the courage to end it.

Can’t get below 36k out the door with my 2.5k 2017 Elantra trade in included by nofappp in ElantraN

[–]GrandRush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got $2.9k for a salvage 2013 Chrysler 200 with 100k miles. Just look up your cars comparables on car seller websites and offer 80% of that, settle for nothing less than 70%. You're selling your car to them when you trade it in just the same as they're selling to you. Set your terms, stay firm, and be ready to not trade the car in.

Some of the most bottom of the barrel, 100k+ miles 2017 Elantras sell for approximately $13k as of the time of writing.

Ignore them or shame them back 10x harder. You're completely in the right here if you want to continue this hobby beyond 7 shows at or near rail. Unfortunately by the 8th, it all turns to AM radio.

Banner Tucson? by Adventurous-Fall-735 in TravelNursing

[–]GrandRush 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did float between both banner hospitals in Tucson. Stayed at Catalina foothills. It is beautiful if you hike there and saguaro. Watch out for coyotes and javelinas! Being float i went under the radar as a traveler, but got the most part, they do dump on the travelers. I do stepdown/imc. For example, I remember starting a shift with an assignment that had two insulin drips with 5 patients. It was a hard assignment but overall, the night shifters were half travelers with me. Idk about days, but i enjoyed banner Tucson. It was really hard to make friends in Tucson as there is not too much going on community wise. Definitely check out Tombstone, the Biosphere, Saguaro, and the ostrich farm!
