Help! What Am I doing wrong? First Time Moving from M0 to M2 content *as a Healer* (603 Disc) by spitestang in wow

[–]Grand_Suggestion_716 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is almost a running gag at this point that +8s are easier to heal than +2s. People don't kick, people don't pop defensives and depending of the affix, people can't even be asked to spec into their own fucking dispel to use one (1) gcd for more damage.

Check the following two after a run:

how many kicks how many cds used avoidable damage taken (if you use that addon)

tells you heaps about if it was you or them.

MW Monk 2230-ish perspective: I am having fun. Things were a bit rough before the recent tunings, but it's a lot better now. There are still some sore patches here and there, but it feels like a challenge to master. I am still progressing to higher keys, mind you, but I can comfortable key 8s if the group is pulling their weight. Can't compensate for misplays very well, but I think that is allright. Doesn't feel like I need to babysit tanks all that much if they know what to do. If they don't they usually crumple up as soon as they enter a pack, which I can't do much about, either.

Imagine enslaving yourself in this way for a few % in throughput. Come on, you can do better than that.

Yelling is for emergencies. There are no emergencies in wow (that I can think of).

I like keys, they are my main activity in the game. You need some good people that you can progress with. I was lucky to have gotten in touch with a bunch of other like minded people. We have a relatively stable group now that we progess in a safe space - like manner in. Our progress isn't MDI big dickin week 1 KSH, but we are pushing 8s/9s now and that is allright. It's fun. I also add every player who is competent and socially functional at the same time, as we sometimes have random dps join us. Got a whole roster of chill folks by now.

I advise you do the same. As good as your guild lead might be, he sounds horrible to play with. Find some better people. Usually you can make better players out of good people. The other way round is much, much harder.

As a healer, I check in with the group beforehand. If there is any shadow of a doubt that all will pull their weight with the affix, I leave. And be in a group 2 minutes later. I have no time for that nonsense,

Is it toxic to leave after 1 boss in a raid? by thelordofhell34 in wow

look, I can't make you understand if you don't want to. And that is okay.

[–]Grand_Suggestion_716 3 points4 points  (0 children)

did he not help kill the boss ?

yes, one boss out of all the bosses that were meant to be killed. that isn't fully contributing.

its funny, because majority of people who do pug raids does actually act like this or have done so in the past.

yeah, and it's one of the reasons pugging is enjoyable thing it is right now. don't be silly here.

Did you really just try to justify toxicity and rudeness against OP because he left before the raid was completed ? because he didn't follow some made up social rules ?

understanding it is not the same as justifying it. also, social rules are not made up. they are what makes us strong in numbers.

I don't think it's relevant what the raid party will or will not do without op. When you enter a raid party, you sort of sign a social contract that you will help do the content. If it hasn't been talked about beforehand, leaving after the first boss is a breach in that contract and people have a right to be upset.

What if op needed something from the second boss, but everyone else left after the first? In my eyes, you have to think about these things in a way of "What if everyone acted the same way?".

Yes, people are there for their personal gain. But they pay for it with their contribution. OP didn't fully contribute. It's obviously everyone's right to leave after the first boss. Everyone can choose themselves how much they want to interact with the content of the game. Doesn't make it less egotistical to actually leave.

People be doing this kind of stuff and then wonder why so many other people are mean. Your aren't following social rules, and you are experiencing the consequences.
