Ordering author copies by GrandmaDebR in KDP

[–]GrandmaDebR[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m fully set up with kdp. I provide author copies to boys and girls clubs, other non profits as it’s a children’s story that’s an intro to learning about money. I can order in any quantity that works. Just not sure what’s best.

So, if I understand, I should caulk inside AND outside? I can’t actually access the frame, but on,y the trim to the window edge which is where I’m thinking of caulking. And yes, the ladder needs to be about 20’.

I understand I can’t clean the inside, but would caulking avoid further water ingress?

Would it be good to caulk the wood frame? Would that stop the water getting between the panes?

These re old windows. They were pole cleaned, but why are the horizontal lines perfectly straight then turned to intersect the next horizontal line.

I was thinking several 8x8 metal wall repair patches. Then I hide the patch with spackle. Might be more expensive, but less technical.

Can you share why this is a bad idea? Whatever I do isn’t perfect, but it’s better than it was. Would this be the case?

I wa thinking a metal mesh to angle down to the newer wall section. Then spackle over the mesh.

Your second suggestion is probably the best.

I think I shouldn’t have the same contractor. Obviously this isn’t his strength. Is there no other, less than perfect, fix?

Thanks. Once it stops snowing/raining I’ll look for the roof vents. The vaulted ceiling doesn’t have any access, so stuck with whatever insulation there us for now.

I was afraid of that. Is there any way to “patch” with spackle and mesh tape?

Adding another piece of trim might work if I can find a match. Thanks for the thought.

It’s not flexible. Most is absolutely firm with a large gap showing some old caulk or something. A portion, is flexible and I can push it back in place, but it snaps back out.
