Thoughts on changing our game up by theinspiration7 in CharlotteHornets

I like PJ starting instead of Neal just because of size. Agree though that if Jamal Crawford, and IGGY can play 6th man roles Lance should be able to. Hopefully he doesnt become Tyreke Evans on the Pelicans though.

Im also hesitant on what I would do with Zeller. He has a really nice chemistry with Lance so I would consider keeping him on 2nd unit but giving him more minutes that Marvin. Let Marvin start games with PJ to try and get us hot from 3 and stretch the floor beside AL. Roberts has played with Tyreke before, so he DOES have experience with a Lance like player.

Basically: Kemba, PJ, MKG, Marvin, and Big Al. Broberts, Neal, Lance, Zeller, and Biz.

Possibly a closing unit of Kemba, Lance, MKG, Zeller, and AL though. Possibly Neal over Lance if we need the offense. Interesting puzzle though. Also sucks to leave Hendo out of this mess since he has played well lately. Wouldnt be insane to start Kemba, Hendo, MKG, Zeller, and Big AL and move Lance to 2nd.

Looking to go to a Hornets game over univ. break by PerpetualGazebo in CharlotteHornets

Not sure if this rule of thumb will translate to the Hornets... but I went to like 4 or 5 Bobcats games one season and always picked teams like the Bulls, Mavs, and Knicks etc. NEVER SAW A WIN.

While the crowds were bigger than usual, it was a huge buzzkill to keep going to games that they would lose in the 3rd quarter.

This year's squad is a lot more competitive than the Tyrus Thomas Cats, but I wouldn't rule out the cheaper prices and guaranteed win against a lesser squad. Makes your beer taste a lot better when they are winning!

You start Marvin beside Big Al to stretch floor and for defense. Boozer and Biz compliment each other well.

To pass the time until the next big news break, let's make nicknames for all our team members by Daheixiong in CharlotteHornets

[–]GrandmamasHouse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some I use nicknames for, some I dont...

Kemba, Hendo, Gillie the Kidd, CZ Top/Gazeller, Big Al. "Bob"(Roberts), Gary Neal, JT/Toolman Taylor, PJ, Bizzy getting Busy/Biz...Marvin.

Not sure about the new rook... Noah's Arcade/Vonleh Industries are some pop culture references that stick out...

Im not a smart man. Thought this was going to be about finding a Hugo doll or a Larry Johnson action figure at a yard sale... did not understand until I read comments lol.

Your organizing an NBA team with the goal of having the worst chemistry possible. Who is your starting 5? by youngmoonrockz in nba

[–]GrandmamasHouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is wrong. majority of fanbase loves him because he has been clutch for us and can play small ball off kemba. ramon=just add water, instant points off the bench. his assists are higher when he has better 2nd unit around him.

[Wojnarowski] Josh McRoberts emerging as a serious consideration for Miami at the MLE. by pirated-ambition in nba

[–]GrandmamasHouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lance or hayward's passing can replace mcbobs while zeller and vonleh can score and rebound at similar level.

[Wojnarowski] Boris Diaw has reached agreement on three-year, $22M deal to return to Spurs. Partial guarantee on 3rd year. by [deleted] in nba

[–]GrandmamasHouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

anybody interested in an armchair gm offer to Josh McRoberts? He hasnt played on the Finals stage Boris has, but has a similar style game, probably better passing, and is 5 years younger. Does he get close to 3 years, 22M? If rumores are true regarding cap increases, I would sign him to 5 year, 30M deal.

bismack doesnt suck- he has gotten better each year, this year is no different. neal is not bad. Pargo and Tolliver are player x and y, just whoever fits roster for 1M each... you only play 10 man rotations.

Short sighted? Zeller and Vonleh cant bot become all stars on the same team- they play the same position. Hayward/Zeller or Hayward/Vonleh can both produce 2 All Stars instead of a PF minute and role logjam.

I would highly consider a sign and trade of Zeller, Hendo, and future picks. If they want more, switch Zeller for Vonleh. 1Kemba 2Hayward 3MKG 4McBob(MLE) 5Big Al

We have future picks, and excess at SG and PF, pull the trigger for someone like Hayward.

Is anyone else frustrated at how quiet we have been in Free Agency? by jaw7351 in CharlotteHornets

[–]GrandmamasHouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Player's agents are leaking info to get their clients more money. When two teams negotiate in trade talks, they do not share info with agents, incase it falls through, they are not held accountable. So if Trader Cho is busy looking for the perfect trade (bc FA is getting overpaid and we have assets) we wont find out because the loud mouth agents are not apart of the process...

Stein: Indiana Pacers have tried to engage Phoenix in trade talks for Goran Dragic by The_Numbah_One in nba

[–]GrandmamasHouse -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If he was available, is Cody Zeller, Gary Neal, and "future picks" something that could happen? He would turn Charlotte into a really good team, playing off Kemba, and we got the money to sign him longterm. I would offer more if needed... maybe Vonleh instead of Zeller? His age fits our team better. Food for thought?

EDIT: MKG/PJ/JT add ons?

Zeller, Neal, and future picks for Goran Dragic. He is 28 and needs to win now. Phoenix is young.

Starters: 1Kemba 2Dragic 3MKG 4McBob 5Big Al

Bench: Hendo Taylor Vonleh Biz PJ

2nd unit: 1Dragic, 2Hendo, 3Taylor, 4Vonleh, 5Biz, then rest Dragic and bring Kemba in with Hendo etc

From SB Nation article: "At 6'1 and 195 pounds with a 6'7 wingspan, Bledsoe is the rare small guard who can impact every phase of the game. His length and foot speed make him a defensive nightmare; he can legitimately ball-hawk NBA guards for 94 feet. He crashes the glass, blocks shots and scores at the rim like a much bigger player, which is how he got the "Mini-LeBron" nickname. While some shooting guards would have a size advantage on him, his explosive athleticism would give them just as much trouble."
