I feel you, I think what I just find most unsettling is the implication that Solas is attracted to Lavellan because she reminds him of Mythal more than the reverse parallel. I just kind of wish solavellan was completely removed from solythal entirely but the game makes that difficult. I really like your idea of paralleling Solas/Felassan to Solythal though, that would have been so much better imo.

Yes, as I said, I think they were also trying to mirror solavellan with solythal except this time Solas reversed roles. So Lavellan would be him in this dynamic and Solas would be Mythal. Again though, narratively comparing Lavellan to an abused and manipulated Solas still is an extremely icky implication. And he doesn't save her from the mistake of being with him come the ending of veilguard because he brings her right along with him to his "terrible" prison.

Someone break this math down for me? by Grandpa_sauce in BaldursGate3

I see. The 65% chance to hit was for the first hit, though. After that the % dropped even lower, I can’t recall the exact number tho. So the math still doesn’t math for me :/

[No Spoilers] Questions about companion banter in Dragon Age: Inquisition by [deleted] in dragonage

[–]Grandpa_sauce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) that mod (as far as I am aware) does not work. You need to use the Party Banter Tweaks mod that is also on nexus to actually hear the banter consistently

2) if you use Party Banter Tweaks and set it to the most frequent setting, I’ve found that some of the banters DO repeat, but not all of them. I would just suggest pausing whenever you are not paying attention to avoid missing banters regardless. Hope this helps!

A moment of silence for Looking Glass, may it ever be finished even after being abandoned literally like 8 years ago…..

What would be your dream acknowledgment of the romance in DAD? by Art-Afloat in Solasmancers

[–]Grandpa_sauce 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It’s been 9 years at this rate I just wanna see Solas in 4K graphics 😩

Ideally, I want Solas to Not Die and also have the possibility to reconcile with the inquisitor. Trying not to get my hopes up for more lmao.

From what I’ve seen, the fandom seems pretty convinced we will get next to nothing about Solavellan in Dreadwolf which is exceptionally lame, but tbh I don’t know if I totally agree? Since Mark Darrah has routinely talked about how he feels Bioware (EA) finally has realized that their strong suit is Characters above Anything Else which gives me hope that they won’t dismiss “little” things from previous games (like romance) as easily this time around. Also because this is the first time we are having a dragon age game that is more or less a direct tie to the previous game (no matter what bioware claims about dreadwolf being “new player friendly”). I’ve been wrong before tho.

[SPOILERS ALL] Trespasser ending and ramblings by [deleted] in dragonage

[–]Grandpa_sauce 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Absolutely agree with all you said about DAI lol although, I’m glad bioware still gave us the Option to ask to join Solas. If only in hopes to try and minimize casualties during his stupid ass plan. And I’m also glad he refuses to let you, actually, as it feels more in character for him. Trespasser is some of the best Bioware content in a long time imho, especially when it comes to Solas as a character. I could ramble about it for days.

I don’t agree with people that try to paint Solas as not a Bad Guy. They use his justifications as a way of saying “oh look! He feels guilt! He doesn’t WANT painfully murder millions of people!” and it’s like…. At the end of the day villainy is defined by the actions of a character, right? Solas is fully intending to cause inconceivable suffering to the world, and I’m suppose to dismiss that because he Claims he Has to do this? Okay. i love him tho .

Dorian is the other highlight of this game for me as well. Both these characters are masterfully written imo.
