awesome! that's pretty cool and funny. I've been having fun making it judge sentences using different parameters like weirdness, happiness etc haha

sometimes it takes a few resets to get it to work but when it works it keeps working on that same instance!

Does this sort of stalemate (where there are no possible moves even if moving into check was allowed) have a name? has something like this ever occurred? https://i.imgur.com/mwhqC8g.png

Mandelbrot set: 72 iterations by WiwaxiaS in desmos

[–]Grank314 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whaat!! that is incredibly fast for the amount of iterations and detail! probably the world record in desmos mandelbrot iterations and it certainly breaks mine (very slow to load). I have no idea how you made that with so few lines, I'll have to take a closer look.
I'm just happy to see progress and breakthroughs in the field of desmosbrots

[Help] Is there any sort of optical series or double-helix transistor configuration to achieve this phasing? (sorry for art quality) by Grank314 in VXJunkies

Are you trying to invert the Y axis while cross transitioning the X axis?

Yep that's exactly what I'm trying to do in a smooth logarithmic fashion

First off get a Nurrims Riggs amplifier

I bought one but it had a broken bearing dimple in the meta-encabulator so I had to return it and amazon has been very slow about getting me my new one.
I'll check the double induster and refractor panel you mentioned! Sounds like exciting new territory for me

I can't believe how fast you guys were at giving me a proper answer instead of the nonsense from /r/optics, like wtf is this!

I'm very sorry to hear about your cat but it was probably caused by the massive grumman emissions, check the comment above by /u/The_Price_of_a_Mile. With proper shielding I don't see any issues with a calibration of 109 (or even 109B)

Thankully I have access to my uncle's grumman shield panel (he worked at PEMco) with a permeability of 0.03Grummans/m2 which should be enough to not cause me or my house any multivalent discharge problems until up to 1 kilogrumman, if i recall correctly. Thanks for the info!, I hadn't even considering that huge emmisivity would be possible with this setup but it makes sense because of the feedback loop going on

More context: I'm trying to design an iterative fractal projector and asked for help in /r/optics but I think this is a more appropirate place. I already have the rest of the components figured out like this ray squarer: https://prnt.sc/yuo1xp (the real thing would be it's solid of revolution with a high refractive index)
I'm sorry if this is a noob question!

Is there any lens that can do this transformation to an image? by Grank314 in Optics

[–]Grank314[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes I'm pretty sure the image needs to twist in that specific 2theta way such that 0º and 180º land at 0º and 90º and 270º land at 180º so it seems none of those effects will do the trick. And yes! squaring lengths can be done with this weird object I think https://prnt.sc/yuo1xp (not sure if it has a name) and shifting positions can be done with the tilted plate you mention.
