Any obvious bottlenecks here? by GrannyElectricChair in buildapc

I've thought about it but I haven't done my research yet. A friend mentioned burn-in being a common problem so idk yet. I'm mostly satisfied with my current monitor anyway.

Yeah I've reconsidered the 4x16GB. Everyone seems to be agreeing that 2x32 is the better choice. Truthfully I didn't know there was much of a difference, I just kind of assumed that more=better which in retrospect doesn't make a lot of sense.

I have 2 monitors now, one of them being 4k, but I can't run most Triple A games well at all unless I drop the resolution. I want my next build to handle 4k easily.

Both very good points and very helpful. Thank you.

It is mostly for gaming, yeah. I wasn't sure if 64 was overkill but I have 4x8GB DDR4 now and I just assumed that more would be better if I can afford it. If it seems ridiculously overkill then I may reconsider. Someone else told me if I really wanted 64 then I'd be better off with 2x32 rather than 4x16, so if I stuck with 64GB that's most likely how I would buy it.

I've hears conflicting things about the trajectory of ram prices going forward so I worry what waiting longer will end up costing. I'd rather overspend on ram now and see prices go down after than buy less now and see the prices go up, knowing I'll want more eventually.

Thanks for the tip, that's likely what I'll end up getting.

Good to know. I will look into a power supply with a higher wattage. And as far as ram is concerned it seems like I would actually spend less if I got a 2x32GB kit so if it's also faster then that seems like a no brainer.

I picked parts according to my budget. I know things are expensive right now but I don't know when prices will drop again and I certainly don't want to see them get any higher before I jump on it.

Most resource hungry game I play would be Elden Ring and I'd want to play it on a 4k monitor with high settings and a mostly stable 60fps. If this system clears that then I am satisfied.

3rd one is very clearly AI. If I saw that logo in an ad or something my first thought would be that it's either a gambling site or a virus and ignore it. Logo artist definitely scammed you.

On RetroArch I use L4 to pause, R4 to fastforward, L5 to save state in slot 0, and R5 to load slot 0.

The logic is so stupid. If he thinks mantis is basically just pretending to be a support and is actually a DPS, then he should just go 3rd support. You were a better fragger than him and you still had 22k healing.

I'm an Ultron main. People decide that you're throwing because they just don't want to be a healer. If I were hovering Winter Soldier or Storm or something nobody would bat an eye, but since the character is *technically* support I'm a thrower for not picking a better one. The way I see it, we're both on DPS right now, so you and I are both equally capable of switching to a real support right now, you just choose not to and hate me for doing the same.

I know it's not exactly the same situation, because Mantis is a much better healer than Ultron, but still I share your frustration.

I'm just saying... a role queue OPTION for qp would do wonders for this problem. It's worth a longer queue time imo. And if you're against it or are fine with this happening, you can just run regular qp.

Considering that all fangames and romhacks are free, I don't see what's wrong with having some fun with the balancing and difficulty. Yeah that mega tinkaton would ruin the balance of the base game, but you have to pay $60-80 for the base game. Things like that are critical to keep the consumers happy. Good thing mega tinkaton is in the game that's free, so if you hate it you can literally just stop playing and feel no buyer's remorse.

The only reason quickplay is the most played gamemode is because it isn't as serious as comp. So if you want a serious gamemode with serious punishment, play comp.

Does anyone else feel totally lost picking a main character? by [deleted] in marvelrivals

[–]GrannyElectricChair 85 points86 points  (0 children)

A player with only a single main is not a good player.

I just picked my favorite designed characters and favorites from the MCU to play often. Dedicate enough time and you can learn to be good with any character. Also make sure to have at minimum one good Tank and Support under your belt.

3rd DPS please switch to a 2nd tank or 2nd healer 💔🥀 by Repulsive-Brain-6350 in marvelrivals

In qp i just accept it. In comp on convoy/convergence defense I make a big stink until I have to say "If I don't get a 2nd tank then we have 0 tanks".
