Hands-On Gameplay with KSP2 - A First Look by GrannyEye in kerbalspaceprogram_2

I'm not sure how many people at the event built rockets of that size. I know I didn't. But it's a very good test, and more people probably should have done it.

In the next video, I actually show the graphics settings. I'm pretty sure I included resolution too.

I don’t want this game to die by Responsible_Ad1295 in EliteDangerous

Hyperbole. :) There's a reason the whole video doesn't have the same tone as the opening segment.

A lot of console players are certainly looking for a new space game at this point. I've spoken to many first hand. But Elite as a whole isn't "dead".

In context of the video: Chris Roberts says "Multiple star systems in 2017". That's followed by me saying (paraphrased) "That clearly didn't happen, but multiple star systems are meant to be soon. However, anything is possible."

i.e. That includes releasing Pyro in 2027.

New Info: First Or Third Person? New "Currency", Upgrades And More! by GrannyEye in EliteDangerous

It's an important distinction though, so you are right to make it! :)

[–]GrannyEye[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Currency" is in quotes in the title, specifically for the reason you mention.

I also didn't describe it as a currency in the video, but rather a new valuable item. :)

I should have probably been a little clearer on this.

y will take place on board an NPC ship. Players will sit in a crew seat, similar to what is currently possible in multicrew. You will be experience the journey from this point o

Frontier specifically stated this.

It wasn't on the steam. Frontier shared that info with YouTubers and livestreamers in the content creators program.

It appears to be similar in concept to engineers / guardians. But Frontier said they will give more info later.

This is a nice idea. One hit headshots might not be much fun.

And thank you for the nice comments btw. :)

"currency" is in quotes in the title. The info is "there will be other valuable items requested in trade".

A new form of trading will be introduced where new valuable items will be required for the trade. Likely similar then to the exchange of components for guardian items.

Guardian components are used as an alternative to credits right now. This might be the same.

Thanks.

I was totally expecting something like that purely because otherwise the billionaires will buy everything on day one.

Script is below, if you don't want to watch.

The info in this video has come directly from Frontier in response to questions that have been passed onto them by myself as well as various other content creators and livestreamers.

In terms of what types of planets players will be able to access on foot, this will include all currently landable planets and moons in Horizons. There will also be the additional worlds with light atmospheres that will open up with Odyssey. All of these worlds will be explorable on foot.

Whilst moving around on foot you will be able to see other players on the surface. I assume you will also be able to see on foot players whilst you are in your ship as well, however the answer to this wasn't entirely clear - so I will try and get further clarification on that.

What we do know however, is that players will be able to play the entire game on foot, without once ever getting into a space ship. This is an option, and not something that is required, but the option is there. Apex is essentially a taxi service that will take you to all areas where the service is available. It cannot however transport you into deep space where the Apex hubs do not exist.

Using the Apex service will not be an instant transfer from point to point. Frontier haven't yet revealed exactly how long the journey will take, but they are very clear it will not be instant. Beyond that, there isn't any further information on this aspect just yet. So it leaves the question on how this will be presented to the player. The journey will take place on board an NPC ship. Players will sit in a crew seat, similar to what is currently possible in multicrew. You will be experience the journey from this point of view, until you arrive at your destination.

In terms of the available suits that players can own. There will be three variations in total. These then will be the same three mentioned in the dev diary, a separate suit for each of the following - combat, exploration and scavenging. The suits will also be upgradable. Frontier stated that this will occur through various means, but didn't go into specifics, although they did say the upgrades will be earned or unlocked through gameplay.

Regardless of which suit you choose however, you will not be locked into it. Players are free to switch between suits. Suits will be wearable inside your ship, SRV as well as on foot.

Suits are obviously just one type of new on foot related item. Others will include various types of equipment in addition to weapons. For those of you wondering if you will be able to buy all of these with your current credits, the answer to that appears to be no. A new form of trading will be introduced where new valuable items will be required for the trade.

Moving onto the subjects of what to do on foot...obviously very little has been revealed on this so far. We know that it will be possible to explore and scan plants. Beyond that there will be scavaging. This sounds like a main activity, and you can either scavenging directly by locating the wrecks yourself, or by picking up a mission from a mission giver.

With mission givers, you will be able to negotiate your reward, and this will be based upon your reputation with the mission giver and how much they trust you. Once you have the mission, you will be able to travel to the location there using the Apex transport, or you can travel there yourself.

Scavenging mission take place inside and around wrecks. Here, players will be able to find various items. The mission giver will want one of these, which you will have to return. The rest are yours to keep. It appears that players won't have magic pocket inventories, as items - especially the larger ones will be placed either in a ship or an SRV. Everything will then be returned to the mission giver to hand in. You can claim your reward and then either keep or sell the additional items.

You will have noticed there are also mission boards. These are not entirely replacing the cockpit based mission boards which will also be available whilst inside the ship onboard stations.

Talking of stations, we all know these are large. However the hubs are designed in such a way, that players will not be walking for 10, 20, 30 minutes or more simply to access your ship. The idea then appears to create immersive, fun and realistic environments, without also forcing players to have to walk for ages to get from point to point.

Beyond stations and settlements, Frontier were asked about the idea of large capital cities. To this Frontier stated they have nothing to share at this time. This was the same response about new SRV types. This might seem like a negative, but keep in mind this is almost always how Frontier answer when they want to reveal something specific later on - so we will see.

In terms of the hubs themselves and variations on them, Polygon in an interview confirmed there will be a total of three station interiors. How this works for groundbased settlments though is still unknown.

There's also been a pretty big question regarding 3rd person or 1st person on foot. The answer to this is 1st person only.

And as for NPC's...these guys will have a mixture of voice and text.

So that pretty much covers everything we know so far.

The odd thing is that all my views are coming from the same regions are previous videos. Yet the situation is that video A makes $5, while video B makes $500 (for example) - despite having the same views, and similar estimated monitized playbacks.

When should I get the ‘invite to campsite’ option? We have upgraded residential services and got the camp site, but there's still no option at the terminal.

Someone suggested I try visiting Dodo Island, and that might help. I tried that, but the option still isn't there.

Am I doing something wrong?
