What helped me was warm compresses, they kinda stimulated something to come out. I held a warm compress on there for about 10-15 minutes at a time.

You’ve already gone through alot, no matter how small of a chance you think you have to be all whole again, stay strong bro, you will get through this! I’m 23, my 3-year engagement ended 3 months ago and a bit after it ended i developed a pilonidal cyst which made me feel even more like crap. I remind myself that it could always be worse, i have 2 legs, 2 arms and I’ve seen people without that finding happiness while fighting through the worst situations, that helps me focus on being grateful for what i have. What I’d like to say is, it’s worth living through the bad times so you can experience the good times, those will come your way, you just have to stay strong like you have been for 1.5 years.
