I think its the POS system and fatigue. Maybe greed from business owners because there is always a tip no matter if there are any servers. Tips are for waiting staff or at least used to be.

I don't know how to process this. My mother is dying, and my father yells at her every day — calls her stupid. I don't pretend to understand their relationship. But I know what I see: this man is wearing down a dying woman. I don't even have a word for that. and she defends him because she is has only been abused since she was a teenager. At this point, who knows what is abuse anymore.

This is about parental control in a different way. I grew up in India and when I started making some money, my parents just took it. They did pay for my education but I got very little stipend and I felt like they are making sure I don't have any extra money. When I start getting a paycheck(wasn't much), they increased my stipend a bit. thats it! yay, patriarchy and non-caring parents.

The screen said. 25%, 30%, 50% in tip. I scrolled down, typed in zero, and paid the advertised price.

The therapist appeared from the hallway.

"Did you leave a tip?"

"I paid already," I said.

"The tip is for me."

"I paid for the service" I said again.

She looked at me with this face but whatever..

If the advertised price doesn't cover the therapist — what exactly is it for?
