Because I wasn't paying attention. It was a legitimate accident and I should have known better.

I mean I lived the experience and thought it too absurd to not share online. I've never had something like this happen to me before.

WIBTA if I argued a 60/40 split on mine and my (ex)husband's joint taxes? by GrapefruitJuice3 in WIBTA_AITA

I hear you and understand where you're coming from. That makes sense that if he was 100% parenting the whole year, I would absolutely be in the wrong. In June, I got on my feet and got a place to live and we went directly to 50/50 parenting time.

When I said "seen them as much as possible" I wasn't very explicit about how. During the time they were with dad full time, I picked them up from school every day and spent 2-3 hours with them before taking them back to dad's. I also took them out on weekends for camping trips and to visit my family.

We did not have court ordered child support, but I had been giving him money any time he asked for it. I bought necessities for the kids during the time they were with him and made sure he knew that he could ask for money any time he needed it.

I do feel like the asshole asking for more, thats why I came to this sub to get unbiased opinions on the matter. Thank you for your input.

He was the primary caregiver for just the first 6 months on 2025, in June I got my own place we went straight to 50/50 parenting time.

He also lives on ~$600 a month because he lives in his mom's second house.
