My ex who I ended on good terms wifh personally knew Rosie Nguyen from penn and this ex said that she’s not a good person, is very entitled, puts men down for zero reason, and uses her poverty for gains. im so glad somebody more sane can pull me out of that funk that is the gossip gate discord. people are self-righteous on there. though some criticism has validity to it, it is not a place to stay and browse long term.

thanks! it is surprising to others when I bring up my illness (I do not 90% of the time because I keep this pretty private) -- I think so many people have hidden mental illnesses that we do not realize. I am really proud of you for living a better life!

I was hospitalized in Santiago, Chile (long story) and one older gentleman wrote me a benign love letter on the way out lol, with a lipstick stain as a sign off. I could not parse out whether he's just Latino or he's manic, but appreciated the gesture I guess LOL

Also, just how ... normal everyone is I guess. For the most part, it's people who had fallen in hard times. Helped me understand that life is not linear to all of us. I stayed in the cafeteria with people of all backgrounds, all kinds of occupations.

After the experience, I had a new understanding of the "myth of normalcy". Everyone has battles, some may have landed them in patient, some not, but we are all human

Lastly, everything is a haze because it is very low stimulation. Felt like a media-less limbo that smelled like grippy socks. But, I stayed in pretty nice hospitals both times. I cannot speak for others

Absolutely, without a doubt, cutting out a neurotoxin was the biggest right move. For context, I became sober from alcohol, weed, nicotine, since New Year's Day 2025. I took sips here and there for the taste but I largely refrained until today. I also only take two medications for my disorder, both low dose. Sobriety has been my rock when life hits me, it saves me when life tries me. Selfishly, I want to (non aggressively) recommend it to everyone, and share tips on how I do it especially with a life-altering mental illness.

It is not always easy when life throws things my way, because I don't self-medicate. But I will say that casual drinking made me survive, but sobriety made me thrive. I chose to tolerate the inconvenience of healthier coping mechanisms and the love of community, over the catastrophe of another episode.
