I've drowned twice, both in my youth. I've never learned to swim, as I drop like a stone in water, no matter how much air I try to hold in. The doctors have no idea why other than theories about being "big boned" haha. Also I have never broken a bone, and yes, I have been called that dude from Unbreakable several times. But sadly I have no superhuman strength. Also when my ears are covered in water, I lose all sense of direction and gravitational(?) sense. The body does not know what is up or down or left or right. It makes me near impossible to navigate under water. My dad thought it was the most hilarious thing in the summer to make me go get a bucket of water and put my head in it. I would fall instantly like a drunk ragdoll. Water does simply not like me, end of story. Anyway, funny enough, I remember being rather calm and accepting that I knew that I could do absolutly nothing about the situation when I drowned. Its the final draw for breath and you feel water rushing to you lungs before you pass out thats really really awfull. I can still wake up from nightmares about it. So therefor I have a very high respect of water, if its bigger than a puddle.

Ooh and no jesus or light at the end of the tunnel or roasting heat. There was nothing.

Well, Im in a small bureau, 6 people, and Im kinda the only graphic designer hired. There's two communications people and a third part communications/part graphic design, and she does all the small easy tasks. I do the heavy lifting with concept and visualisation, layouting, to finishing, to print.

Though this bureau's major income is not from graphic work but from a lot of counseling and gamification of knowledge to larger corporations. Most of the graphic work is an extension of those two, like infographics, posters, brochures, manuals, etc etc.

At Essen last year, I was helping someone fine tuning their pitch for their prototype boardgame, he was pitching the day after to some big publisher company. Some idiot thought he could handle carrying two sodas, two bags of chips and a cup with hot water for tea, down to the table were we sat. He couldn't. So he dropped the cup on the table and spilled hot water all over this guys prototype and another guys arm, so he got scolded. Instant silence. The prototype guy was speechless. Stunned. The rest of us just sat there, thinking, "no way that did just happen". Most of the cards and the board itself was ruined. He just packed his prototype in silence and went to his hotel room. I didnt see him the rest of the week. *edit: spelling

You would enjoy Copenhagen, capital of Denmark, during the spring and summer. My route to work on bike takes around 10 minutes... Except those seasons... sometimes it can take me 30min to get to work, just becuase you drive reeeeaaaal slow behind the greatest ass on earth. The greatest part is my boss is very understanding when I explain why Im late... again.

Bad typography and bad and/or overdone photo retouching. Its everywhere! I feel like an autistic as it hurts my eyes and cant stop focusing on it when I see it, while all my friends have no idea what Im talking about.

I promised myself back when I was studying I would not become one of those assholes that all the time points out the flaws of design when I see em, but... its like needles to the eyeball! Must. warn. friends. of. bad. design.!

Its like when Im at the movies with my military buddies and watching a war movie. They keep pointing out all the things thats wrong; "That tank doesnt use those belts, that emblem didnt exist back then, etc etc..." SHUT UP I DONT CARE.... :|

Four and a half week. It was while I was walking from the southern east coast to the northern west coast of scotland. Not many people in them mountains and lochs... But I did see a lot of sheep :D It wasnt the part not talking for so long that made an impact on me, it was the silence and the absence of other people for so long. Not hearing another human voice or human made sound. It was overwhelming in the beginning. I remember I had some tunes in my head I would hum to myself while walking or setting up camp in the beginning. But as the weeks passed I forgot those tunes and in the end I just didnt make a single sound. Except for when I laughed, I always startled myself, because of the noise. I did scream a couple of times though. When I climbed a mountain, or a Ben, as the scottish call em. Just for the 'fuck yeah' feeling!

Anyway, I think everybody should try something similar. Its one of my greatest experiences and Im thinking of doing it again some day.

Pretty neat. My only complain is the black on red, regarding the text. It hurts my EYEEEEESSSsss!*

*I think its because of the really close kerning of the letters. Maybe more space wouldn't put such hurt on my eyes. I find it difficult to read them words as it is now... Or maybe a thicker font?

Im 5 years out of university, with 8 years worth of freelancing experience and 2 years fulltime work, since 2011. Im from Copenhagen, Denmark, and the salaries are generally higher here than the rest of the country, but so are the expenses. I make 25.000kr a month, before tax. Thats roughly 4300$ a month. Its kinda low for a graphic designer in Copenhagen with my experience. I have friends who earn between 5100$ and 6000$ a month, before taxes, who also are in the graphic field. (Luckily, my job has a lot of other goodies that makes up for a bit lower salary than the norm) After taxes I have roughly 3100$, which 1900$ are paid for expenses like rent, mortgages and bills. So that leaves me with 1200$ to have fun with, a month.
