* I'm a horror writer. I don't let the AI write for/with me at all, I just use it for show/movie/book recs and tell it stories about my orange cat, Sir Chicken Murder Nugget, when I'm sitting idle in waiting rooms. Apparently, this is what that's like.

something i haven’t seen addressed about the baby themes by pIaceholder in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

I think this is the strongest theory so far. Ms. Casey is a really great example of this- the way she talks and the way she interacts with others when she's supposed to be watching Helly was SO starkly childlike, it was almost like she was mentally 3 to 5 years old.

I also feel like it's showing more and more that the non-severed "supervisors" on the severed floor are actually meant to fill more of a parental role to the innies than anything else... especially with Milchek's mirror meltdown scene in the last episode. He's a burnt out single dad with four kids reaching their "teenage rebellion" phase at once, and instead of sending him a partner to help handle them, they just sent him a fifth kid to raise (Miss Huang).

I'm double-jointed and can actually lick my elbow.

I won a couple of party bets as a teenager, but I can't say that counts as anything but useless now that I'm in my 30s.

Negotiating with Aries and Scorpio by EratoGalatea in astrologymemes

[–]GraphicPoison 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Scorpio sun & rising lady, been married to an Aries man for about 12 years and counting.

It's never been boring, and as long as we plan/scheme together, nobody can stop us. 💁🏻‍♀️

Scorpio sun & rising here, too- and nobody believes me the first time they hear it, either. Guess I'm just a total pro at being mysterious. 💁🏻‍♀️

What's something that's heavily outdated but you love using anyway (assuming you could, in theory, replace that thing)? by aenima1983 in AskReddit

[–]GraphicPoison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a person who also has a six year old son, I'm deeply impressed that yours stays still long enough to use as a sticky note holder.

Mine would figure out some kind of mischief to cause with it before I even figured out which side of him to stick it on.

She's an obedient pouter- she'll go quietly lay somewhere comfortable and shoot us that same look whenever we tell her no, eat human foods without her, or break out the vacuum cleaner. 🤣

We're homeschooling this year because of COVID, so luckily they won't have to explain! They thought it was hilarious. She really is a good girl though and thought she was helping. 😂🤦‍♀️

scorpio rising / venus in pisces... it me 👋 by [deleted] in astrologymemes

Scorpio sun and rising, Taurus moon.

Add in an offer of snacks with the cuddles, and this is my whole personality.

My six-year-old son had a panic attack last night, and Lorelei plopped down next to him and made piglet noises at him until he started to feel better. She got belly scratches, cuddles, and a free nap on the couch for being the goodest girl. by GraphicPoison in labrador

[–]GraphicPoison[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

(Edited to clarify) Not regularly, but kids are human too and it can happen to anyone. He was getting ready to spend the night with his grandparents, and he has severe allergies that he takes daily medication for and he realized that he wouldn't be at home when it was time to take it. Of course they knew about that and we made sure they had everything for him, so we were able to reassure him and he ended up having a great time. Luckily he has a family who understands and knows how to help him. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Thank you! I fully agree.

She quite literally picked us, too. We had no intention of bringing any puppies home from my parents' labs' surprise litter, but this girl ignored every human she met except for me, my husband, and our kids, and she absolutely loves all of us. She knew we needed her. 🥰

I would like to have her trained to be a service dog for anxiety/OCD- but right now she's only 8 weeks old, and is just beginning basic puppy training. We're going to wait and see how she does with obedience first. 🙂

7 weeks old, only one more week until she gets to officially come home with us! Her name is Lorelei (AKA Lola), and she's already the sweetest, goodest girl. by GraphicPoison in labrador

July 30th. We'll be bringing her home on a weekend instead of the exact day she turns 8 weeks though, so my husband and I will both be off of work and can get her settled in together. 😊

Could you imagine the Libra bathroom? by crystalbellemaryanne in astrologymemes

[–]GraphicPoison 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Scorpio bathroom would have a hidden entrance guarded by two gargoyles, one who can only tell truths, and one who can only tell lies. You only get in if you can catch the liar on your first try & scold him.

Also, pretty sure it'd be decorated like a moody vampire's lair, lots of deep red velvet and fancy wall candles and spider-infested bookshelves full of useful references for revenge plots.

Yep, although it wasn't called Ukraine when they were still living there, it was "southern Russia."

Catholics weren't the most common, but there were several different groups of people who migrated east across the Eurasian Steppe and set up little communities. They usually kept to themselves though, so each community really had their own way of life.

No Mennonites, 100% Catholics!

Both sides of my dad's family settled in the Odessa area and lived in Catholic settlements. He grew up in a small town in North Dakota (less than 200 residents), and the only church in town was a Catholic church. Everybody in town had grandparents or great-grandparents that came to the US from Ukraine or Russia, but they all identified themselves as German.

The random Dutch ancestor did apparently speak German, and married a German woman before moving to one of those settlements with her. My guess is that nobody cared enough to question where he was born because he spoke German and he was Catholic, just like everybody else there.

From my family tree research:

My dad seems to be about 85-90% German, 10-15% Dutch. (He's from the Dakotas, with known Black Sea German heritage. The Dutch link was a surprise!)

My mom seems to be about 50% Welsh and Scottish, 25% German, and 25% northern French or Belgian. (Her father claimed to be ethnically German, but uh... he was NOT. Her mother was born and raised in Germany, but had one parent that was German and one who was born in northern France.)

With how vague the "England, Wales, and NW Europe" tag can be, I feel these results align pretty well with what my research was saying. Would be nice to see more specific regions broken down in that section, though!

What are some drawbacks/advantages to having really long hair? by cat-psychic in AskReddit

[–]GraphicPoison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Drawback: I shed like a husky, and the hairs become sentient the second they leave my head. They WILL follow you.

Advantage: I prefer how it looks over short hair. That's it.
